JOB DESCRIPTION FOR IT DEPARTMENT
Computer Hardware:
Design and oversee the production of computer hardware equipment.
Test and re-test parts to ensure they work properly.
Identify and isolate defects.
Design and develop the software systems that control computers.
Design and test circuits and other electronic components.
Test work and refine processes.
Integrate components into the final design.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessary.
Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
Use computers extensively to produce and analyze designs.
Generate specifications for parts.
Control the efficiency of processes.
Supervise technicians and other engineers during development phase.
Build, test and modify product prototypes.
Analyze information and recommend appropriate hardware to users.
Design support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
Specify power supply requirements and configuration.
Retrieve data for analysis of system capabilities.
Computer Software:
1. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on plan limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
2. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
3. ERP (Enterprise resource planning) software installation at all points, learn to use all the different methods, train users in all section and locations.
4. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
5. Consult with users about software (ERP) system design and maintenance.
6. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
7. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
8. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
9. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.
10. Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific staff.
11. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
12. Determine system performance standards.
13. Train users to use new or modified equipment.
14. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
15. Specify power supply requirements and configuration.
16. Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation.
Network Engineering:
1. Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipments and related services.
2. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems.
3. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
4. Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
5. Maintain and support company’s LAN/WAN environment.
6. Windows, business applications, anti-virus protection, email, and authentication administration.
7. Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
8. Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors.
Computer Systems Administrator:
1. Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
2. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
3. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
4. Password protection on different access level for different users at different locations. And access level must be authorized and issued by Director (Mrs. Humayra Nasir).
5. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
6. Operate master consoles in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
7. Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
8. Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
9. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
10. Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
11. Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
12. Load computer tapes and disks, and install software and printer paper or forms.
13. Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
14. Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.
15. Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
16. Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.
17. Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
18. Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
