For the third time Daffodil International University has joined the AUPF Annual Conference at Busan, Korea. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, represented DIU and he presented its views on the development of higher education in our country, the experiences of the university in developing undergraduate and post graduate degrees and the university's role in meeting the country's human resource needs. He took active part in the whole program, visited the entire area, presented his paper, attended question-answering session and signed 16 MOUs on behalf of DIU. 72 Top University from Asia joined this great gathering.

To cope with the global academic environment Daffodil International University has adopted and upgraded some policies and practices by joining hands with different international organizations from the very beginning. In accordance with this phenomenon very recently DIU has joined the 20 years celebration of Asian University Presidents Forum that took place on 28th to 31st October, 2012 in Busan the beautiful city of Republic of Korea. The motivations for internationalization of DIU include knowledge and language acquisition, enhancing the curriculum with international content, and many others. Specific initiatives such as branch campuses, cross-border collaborative arrangements, programs for international students, establishing English-medium programs and degrees, and others have been put into place as part of internationalization.

The conference is hosted by Jekuk Chang , President of Dongseo University. The theme of this year’s Forum is “The Era of Asia: Creating a Cooperative Network of Asian Universities.” Sub-themes include, “Practical and Realizable Cooperation Programs”; “The Asian Education Market: Trends and Visions”; “Benchmarks of Internationalization”; “Preparing Students for a Global Workforce; and, “Reducing the Impact of Inequality on Higher Education.”. The conference ended with the signing ceremony for academic cooperation. DIU has signed MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with 16 universities in this conference including: Dongseo University (Korea), UPM University (Malaysia), Sias International University (China), Philippines University, Cambodia University, Petra University (Indonesia), Salahaddin University (Iraq), Sikha O Anusandan University (India), Vietnam University, Mongolia University and many others.


The Asian University Presidents Forum is composed of universities and institutions in Asia. In order to establish a mechanism through which university presidents in Asia, AUPF was always in the leading position. Exchange and cooperation between member institutions has also expanded in both extent and type, with the Forum playing an active role in the establishment of communication and cooperation relationships. Indeed, the Forum has been successful in achieving its goal of helping Asian institutions of higher learning “communicate with each other, interchange information, exchange experiences and realize common development”.
