With almost everything now available on the internet and people more involved in this mode of communication, the country has added 1.24m new internet users in April alone, which is a 3.77% growth compared to March.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has confirmed the data on Wednesday and said after April, the total number of internet users stood at 33.04m. Earlier in March the figure stood at 31.8m.

According to the regulators, most of the new users added in April were subscribers of mobile internet service. The Wi-Max operators added around 11,000 and the ISP’s added another 1,000 subscribers.

The number of internet users earlier this year, in February, stood at 30.39m.
