A Few suggestions about DIU Webpage http://www.daffodilvarasity.edu.bd

Finally, these all are my personal opinion and not necessarily to be the hard rule.

- Removing some old banners and create new.
- Making a latest news box (example - http://www.buet.ac.bd/)
- More information on Scholarship and DIU campus (this is one that should be highlighted not the 7 natural wonders!)
- Providing more information about exam system and quality of education.
- Removing Chat/ Topic etc. from homepage  (what should be there ? please check any US or Canada or AUS university webpage, see: http://www.uq.edu.au/)
- Making the banner photos rotating (new picture each week or atleast in 15 day)
- A Chairman's message (a link may be) could be added in homepage.
- Create scope for international students/ players/ actors etc. (and highlight them in homepage!)
- making a Video Channel in youtube.com (everyday broadcast what's happening in DIU)
- Highlight news about scholar students/ faculty/ administrative success!


I strongly believe, webmasters/team should be  well trained for all these things and supervised by a group of faculty and administrative persons.

These are only suggestions. Any update is welcome.

Thank you Sir for your nice suggestions. All the suggestions are very nice. But Sir, I think chat will be very helpful if our university can engage more students in chat. It is real time communication system. A Teacher can give his/her feedback in a moment to the students or a student can get help from a teacher within a very short time.



Few suggestions also from me for our website:

In our website their are many old information, like- Semester Schedule, this is a very important but not updated yet while we it is running summer semester. Like this we have many more information in our website those are not updated yet. All the information should be updated daily.


* In our website their are many important and useful tags, I think these should be in the upper level, like- Social web.
* Website should be updated (all the information like- Blog, About DIU, Facilities, Students, News & Events, At a glance, Faculty members, etc.)
* Should make active all the inactive/ no work properly tags like- ERP, Notes, E-education, Industry linkage, etc.
* Should highlighted some features by making the banner photos rotating (Example: Why you should study in DIU, About DIU, Campus Life, Library,        E-education, Social web, ERP, SMS Result, Entertainment, Latest News, etc. )

The semester schedule is too old. Two semester already gone but still this schedule is not updated. It is very important to get the information about semester schedule.

Is it possible to place DIU logo on the address bar? So that when we will enter in our website the logo of DIU will appear on the address bar as well as on the tab.

Thanks to Arefin Sir for his valuable suggestions. I do agree with him. Another important thing is that DIU home page has more than 100 links. But from the usability perspective, it is proven that if a website contains more links (specially at home page) then most of the users do not want to stay long. That is why I think the number of links should be minimized. Links of the same group should not be represented individually. It is better to represent them in sub-group. This is personal assessment that I explained from the view of HCI.
