A study on ongoing and extensive use of DDT in Bangladesh and also of technical HCH has been perpetrated. This is in contrast to the announced legal actions taken by the Bangladeshi government to ban organochlorine pesticides in 1993. Due to the agricultural activities in Bangladesh it would be interesting to further look into the use of other pesticides than those containing chlorine. So far the HCB and PCB concentrations are low among the people analyzed in Bangladesh.  It is a matter of great concern because if, DDT is banned in 1993 the how come our study revealing its potential presence in the environment.
