Dear Concern,

Thanks for posting with pictures. It’s nicely narrated and pictured to understand the event. It is important now a day portraying real picture through IEC (Information Education Communication) materials.

Personally I like the idea of MEET THE LEADERS for creating new leaders through live interaction.

May be DIU can arrange MEET THE LEADERS session sometime independently. Leaders can be selected from different perspectives including business, development, health, social, political (!) etc.

Regards,

Raju

We all hope, our impending Business Festival will be more pompous than the last one.

Will there be any initiative to incorporate other faculties/departments here?

Importance of Business Studies
« Reply #10 on: June 01, 2010, 02:05:33 PM »

In this age of globalization and internationalization, the demand of business education is increasing. Before studying business studies, most students think that Finance is about maximizing profit; Marketing is about selling and advertising; and Management is about getting things done by others. But after successful completion of BBA and MBA degrees, they are able to understand that Finance is about cost minimization and wealth maximization; Marketing is all about identifying customers' needs and wants and delivering superior value up to their satisfaction and building profitable relationship with them and Management is about planning, organizing, controlling, leading and stuffing and finally doing things rightly. Peter Drucker (1993) rightly said, “Knowledge has to be applied systematically and purposefully to determine what new knowledge is needed, whether it is feasible, and what has to be done to make knowledge effective.”

So undoubtedly business education has paramount importance but we believe that education is half of the story and second half is placement of the students in the job market. Daffodil International University is trying to enrich its students in a way that they can match the requirements of the industry. We are trying to enhance the practical capabilities of the students through providing real life exposures in order to make them fit in the highly competitive corporate environment. DIU has also been working collaboratively with Jobsbd.com which is an on-line recruitment website to help job seekers find their dream jobs since August 2009.

The main objective of the CDC of DIU is to make an attempt to bridge up the gap between the University’s academic curricula and the latest requirements of the job market.
