Socialweb
« on: September 30, 2010, 01:53:37 PM »

I have started using the Socialweb and I am excited about its multifarious use that I want to do. More over, I am really inspired by today's news on www.khanacademy.org( a free-learning website) made by Salman - a person of Bangladeshi origin who has won 2 million dollar for his best idea on 'future world'.

I have visited the website and found many useful videos on physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics are given in a simplistic and understandable way. Students can visit this site.

Most of us don't use computer on a regular basis.....let alone the use of internet....some of us don't have PC. Sometimes, parents don't allow us to use internet especially for girls students...many of us don't like technology......so, i think the use of social web can be introduced moderate time....

Today 13 students registered in social web. I have asked them to do a translation.

Pasha helped me a lot to help the students log in to social web. I am grateful to him.
At first we found many students even do not know how to go to internet page, later we managed, but there are more students  to join yet.

I hope, I will be able to make the students practice more whichever I teach them in the class.
The most important thing is, students are liking it which will motivate them to feel the urge to learn more and more.

Many of my students are facing problem opening their new e-mail Id of the university.
They are coming with the problem: the visual verification does not accept the Id for a longer time( even 10 times try fail). I am re-sending them to sixth floor to set it right.

The number of students of my class is only 26, that's why I can easily help them, I wonder what would I do if the number were 100!

Still my students are very eager to learn and they are not at all disappointed.
I have assigned them different comprehensions and deadline so that they cant take shelter of cut, copy n paste.

Dear Shamsi

Thanks. Your speech is always inspiring.
I asked my students to submit their answers through social web.23 of my 26 students have responded and have sent their answers. I am very happy about their performance. Moreover, they are watching  mistakes done by the others, which is making them alert writing their answers. Hope to make them use it more frequently.
