1. Incorrect : He took a high mark in English.
Correct: He got an excellent grade in English.
Note : “To take” হচ্ছে কোন কিছু ইচ্ছা করে বা জোর করে নেওয়া। “To receive” এবং “to get” হচ্ছে অন্যের কাছ থেকে কোন কিছু পাওয়া। যেমন- a gift, a letter, money বা marks in the examination.
2. Incorrect : Do you like to see my collection?
Correct : Do you want to see my collection?
Note: like to do something হচ্ছে অভ্যাসগতভাভে কোন কিছু পছন্দ করা এবং “Want to do something” হচ্ছে এখনই কোন কাজ করতে চাওয়া।
3. Incorrect : He went to school to know English.
Correct: He went to school to learn English.
Note: “Know” ব্যবহার করা হবে যখন- “Learning” সমাপ্ত হয়ে যায়।
4. Incorrect : He is reading algebra in his room.
Correct : He is studying algebra in his room.
Note : “To study” হচ্ছে কোন কিছু শেখার চেষ্টা করা এবং “To read” ঙ্ঘচ্ছে কোন কিছু পড়া।
5. Incorrect : He tried to found his lost book.
Correct : He tried to find his lost book.
Note : “To find” হচ্ছে কোন কিছু খুজে পাওয়া এবং “To found” হচ্ছে কোন কিছু স্থাপন করা।
6. Incorrect : They had a nice play of football.
Correct : They had a nice game of football.
Note : Play (noun) হচ্ছে drama তাই play কে noun হিসেবে game এর পরিবর্তে ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
7. Incorrect : All the streets were full of men.
Correct : All the streets were full of people.
Note : People হচ্ছে মানুষ আর men হচ্ছে পুরুষ তাই মানুষ বোঝাতে men না বসিয়ে people বসাতে হবে।
8. Incorrect : The town has fifty thousands people.
Correct : The town has fifty thousand people.
Note: hundred, thousand, million etc. এদেরকে কখনও plural করা যাবে না যদি এদের পূর্বে কোন নির্দিষ্ট number থাকে।
9. Incorrect : All his money are kept in the bank.
Correct : All his money is kept in the bank.
Note : Money- র সাথে সবসময় singular verb ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
10. Incorrect : The scissor is lying on the table.
Correct : The scissors are lying on the table.
Note: দুই অংশবিশিষ্ট কোন বস্তুকে সবসময় plural হিসেবে ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

I have a question that is - " all that glitters is not gold " . we know "is" is correct but somewhere someone use "are".
