I totally agree with MIR that smartness is not about showing off, but about having knowledge and humbleness...

Exactly. having knowledge is very important in smartness..but we can see now a days young generation are very busy with getting outlook than having knowledge.

Yes I also agree with MIR sir but I think some smartness have to be showing otherwise we dont know that the person is smart....Know the things what is right or wrong and show the things what we do the right or wrong .....

Is it really a bad thing to wear good dresses? Why is everyone so negative about smart dress up?

Dear sir,
Its not bad to wear good dresses but the definition of good dress varies from person to person. For example some people may call T-shirt/Jeans (torn apart here and there) good dress...
Anyway personally I think dress ups can be considered as a plus point to one's smartness but can not be a key indicator of smartness.

To me any dress that is comfortable and at the same time create a positive view of the wearer in others mind can be called a good dress.

Smartness means, who the persons can maintain all things in a manner way and in a systematic  way that is good for all. Smartness is not only smart dress up.

real smart is a suite of tools that help you learn. real smart builds collaborative learning portfolios which support the process of learning through peer, mentor and self-assessment.

Smartness is the process of learning what we are going to do now & in future. If you consume the quality, you must have the gut to share your ideas with others, except tapping others.
