The following two books of poetry written by Dr. Binoy Barman, Head, Department of English, DIU have been published on the occasion of Ekushey Book Fair 2011.

1.   Music of Silence (English)
2.   Khuchra Kobita 101 (Bangla)



Music of Silence: The Poems in this book have been presented in accompaniment of illustrations, which might strengthen the artistic appeal of words. Poetry as a verbal art takes the help of another art form, pictorial, to stir the visual sense of readers, as a way to sublime aesthetics. Brush is tied with pen as a symbol of common purpose of artistry- a reconciliation of greeneries of two banks distanced by the water of flowing perceptions. The pages are illustrated by attractive sketches, which draw the attention of the reader, no doubt.

Khuchra Kobita 101: It is a collection of hundred and one well-written verses. Most of the verses are written in lucid, easy language and reflects love from different angles. The themes of the verses will definitely evoke humour while reading. It is a collection of poems, which represent day to day prank related to love-affair. All the verses are comprised of 2-8 lines. A general reader can also be able to read out the whole book in a single sitting. The book is adorned by plenty of comical sketches, which have added more tastes to the books. Title of some verses are: Tomake Bhalobashi, Protidin Kotha Hoi, Kahini Shesh, Moner Khoto Shukai, Dinratri Tomai Bhebe, etc.
