Are parents the best teachers?

Are parents the best teachers?

Obviously, the first teachers we have in our lives in most cases are our parents. They teach us to walk, to speak, and to have good manners before we reach "the real world." More than even the professional teachers that we have in school, parents are generally the most involved in the development and education of children.

Almost for sure our parents are the best teachers at the beginning of our lives, which actually corresponds to the parents' role in nature. Parents are most committed and involved in teaching their children; they have a kind of instinct to sacrifice a part of themselves for the betterment of their children. They love us and have great patience while passing down their knowledge to us. They wish us a success and thus will not teach us bad things. And of course, implicit learning occurs when children unconsciously copy some of their parents' habits and styles of behavior.

During the second stage of child development, adolescence, parents can still be in the best position to offer advice even though the children might not accept it. In this case, perhaps the child's friends would be the best teachers. Adolescents are notoriously rebellious in many cultures and may automatically reject any advice from their parents. My choice of studying Medical Science  for instance, was solely a matter of doing the opposite when my parents tried to intrude in offering their advice. So in such matters, parents should be much more flexible and be rather the partners with their children. So we can see that being a teacher of growing child become more and more complicated case as the time passes and many parents are simply not able to meet the increased demands.

On the other hand, I would say that parents are not professional teachers and they tend to be very biased by their love of their children. So wishing good things and an easy life may prevent children from maturation. In any case, parents usually can present only one viewpoint of the world, while good teaching should be based on different attitudes. Thus, when children go to school and have a great diversity of teachers, they learn much more than their parents could probably give them. Furthermore, once our parents get older, they become more conservative and cannot always be objective in regard to modern trends and fashions. Thus we need to take their advice with caution during that period. However, some kind of intuition which I believe shared between relatives about what everybody needs and great love which exists in a families still makes our parents very good teachers and advisers at any time.

In conclusion, while parents are not the ideal teachers, and well-rounded children will generally need a great diversity of teachers in their lives in order to have a more accurate view of the world, parents are generally the most committed of all teachers and have the greatest emotional investment in their children and their future.

Education as to our superiors

Education is not just reading out some books and making a good result to ensure a better job in the job market. If it is confined to above objective the basic objective of education will lose its glamour as it has multidimensional aspects.

Through all the way of education we learn and this process never ends. We must learn some other aspects of life without which our life will remain incomplete. In our behavior we should show proper respect to older. Respect to the superior means to work according to their advice.

Of superiors, first comes the name of our parents. Honor to them comes from within spontaneously. We have blood link with them and during our all kinds of troubles they were, are and would be with us whatever pains and anguish they get from us. So they deserve it to advise us and it is our duty to follow their words. Might be they are not always right. But it should be managed in a proper way so that they do not get hurt.

Next to parents there comes the name of our teachers who teach us from the very beginning of our childhood. They make us great, help become a quality man and conscious citizen and finally, show a roadmap to lead our way of life in a managed and nice way with honesty. Respecting a teacher means to stay calm in the class, listen to what (s)he says and after all, prepare home tasks regularly. Anyway, we can be friend of our teachers in all respects; but having this freedom we should not misuse it. We should step forward according to our teachers’ advice and direction.

Then come our grandparents, uncles, aunts, elder brothers and sisters, our neighbors living around us. We cannot go without them, as they are part and parcel of our life. All these people want our betterment in life. They feel well when we achieve something and in our sufferings they pass unhappy and restless hours. Not necessarily, we will just value those whom we know. Rather wherever we find someone unknown we must step forward with due tribute. All the superiors, wherever they live and stay do not matter are in a position to get our respect. A teacher of other institution is as respectable as my own. An old saying goes that money begets money. In the same way respect begets (always in the right way) respect and to be respected we must respect others. These all are the parts of our education.

Obedience to parents and elders

To be obedient is to obey the orders of one's elders and superiors. There cannot be order unless there is obedience. One has to obey the laws of the country, otherwise the society cannot exist. The laws may be irksome, but, for the overall good of the law one must obey them. For instance, the laws to be obeyed on the road ensures road safety. The laws pertaining to property help society continue without hitches and hindrances. Even in our body our limbs obey the commands of the brains unless they are diseased. Obedience is essential for the enforcement of order.

Obedience includes obedience to one's parents and elders. Parents are the best well wishers of their children. From their experience, they know what is good for their children. They would never mean ill for them. For the sake of the well being of the children, parents insist on obedience. Obedient children grow into fine children. They are not only loved by their parents but also by others connected with the household and by the neighbours. When children obey parents they are happy.

Circumstances as they may be, parents may set certain norms. Children may not understand their implications, but if they obey, very often they will steer of dangers. For instance, the parent may warn his son of bad company. If the son obeys, he will grow unscathed. The parents may insist on personal cleanliness, keeping things neat and tidy, being regular in studies and so on and so forth. If the boy or girl obeys the parents in such and other things, he or she will surely grow into a finer one.

Of course the parents' example may be forceful enough. If the parent shows how he is obedient, the son will naturally be obedient.

There cannot be a better story than Casabianca on the deck. The father had asked the boy not to leave the deck until the parent returned. The ship was on fire, the father was dead and other sailors asked Casabianca to leave the deck and escape for life. But the boy would not leave, for father had asked him not to. The fate of the boy could be conceived but Casabianca has become immortal because he obeyed his father.

Being obedient to parents and elders will have to be followed in life. An obedient servant is always liked and respected. But for the unquestioning obedience of servants big establishments cannot be run. Unless one knows the value of obedience and has been practising it, suddenly he cannot become obedient. Servants who are obedient are preferred to clever ones.

One may argue that blind obedience won't do good. Where one can prove the other is wrong, strict obedience can be waived. This happened sometimes; a junior may have a brilliant idea and without infraction of obedience he may put up his idea in the appropriate manner.

Obedience, just like charity must begin at home. Parents have a duty in bringing up children to be obedient and loving.

Some people are so important  in our lives,especially our parents because  they are our families so they have always huge significance for us .I believe that we learn a lot of things from our parents from the first ages to older ages.They  teach us  some important basic things when we are child like eating meal,playing games,some necessary rules  in society,moral sense and when we get older time to time,they continue to teach and to remain the nearest part of us.Doubtless,we do not learn everything from parents  but also we improves ourselves through the way of education services,newspapers or other things but parents are the best ones...........

Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults.
We can discuss both these views and give own opinion.

It is believe that all children are born with equal capabilities but their way of learning and how they are taught makes difference in the end. Children's having competitive skills is a good aspect but they must know how to co-operate.

These skills mostly depend upon their initial training either by their parents or in the school. Children possessing only competitive skill make them a good learner. Most of the time they are very ambitious about two things, one is academics and other is their career, they try to be excellent in many ways. Every time they win, it makes them more confident and energetic to work hard. Competitiveness also makes them to be creative, but if it's not guided properly then it has reversal effect on children. They will lack confidence, always have feared to lose, very selfish and will not be able to play their role in community properly.

On the other hand, being co-operative is much more fun. Co-operative means to share, people who have this skill are good organizer and play a vital role as a team player. On lot of occasions they can overcome their weakness by collaborating with others. They definitely reach their goal as teamwork.

To conclude, all of these abilities are created for a purpose. Children must be set free to create their own abilities according to their potential but they must be taught to have balance between competitiveness and co-operation.

Yes I agree. The things that parents can induce into the mind of their babies nobody else can do with so much pure love and affection. Whatever they do for their babies is from the bottom of their heart.
Be gentle and you can be bold but also let people feel, the steadiness of your resentment;
be frugal and you can be liberal;
avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men.

Some people talk about learning outside the class. Yes, i do believe that we can learn many things from our friends, colleagues, books, and even from nature. But parents can play a supreme role in shaping and mounding the children. None can play such a big role other than parents. Few months back, findings of UK riots said that their parents could not bring up the youths properly. However, a university is the largest institution of exercising knowledge and research. We, the teachers, can instruct the students about attitude, behavior and ethics. But everything may go in vein if the parents do not take care of their sons and daughters as it is parents who are truly responsible in inculcating the character and life skills of their children that they require to become good human beings

Parents are the best teachers in our lifetime. Because a child's the basic knowledge are created by a family. Organizational knowledge can not pay any role without the help of the support of a family.
