While living in the capitol of modern Christianity, Italy, Dante wrote The Divine Comedy (1308-1321) where he brought some issues that clearly contradict the Bible. Not only that, he even included events derived from Islam in it! Why did he dare to do so?!

In this epic poem, Dante's alter ego, the Pilgrim, travels through Hell and Purgatory to reach Heaven. His journey is meant to impress upon readers the consequences of sin and the glories of Heaven.
