What is Non- Performing Loan!!!

A non-performing loan (NPL) is the sum of borrowed money upon which the debtor has not made his scheduled payments for at least 90 days. A non-performing loan is either in default or close to being in default.

 As per data from Bangladesh Bank, the volume of NPLs has jumped by more than 31 percent to BDT 621.72 billion as on December 31 last year from BDT 513.71 billion (year to year). As a result, the BB issued warning at a meeting with 20 banks on their recovery positions.
