It is good to hear DIU organize Fruit Festival. I hope all students of DIU will participate this event. But in this festival, Fruit price is so high, for this reason visitors can see only arrangements not eating. I hope Fruit price is reasonable so that all visitors become satisfy.

Some very enthusiastic students and faculty members have organized fruit festival this year. Let me tell you that I just love this sort of programs. I am very fond of fruits. If you look at the globe you will be amazed to know that we the people of tropical countries are very blessed to have such variety of fruits, flora and fauna, diversified culture! We have thousands of species of fruits. I have noticed that due the globalization, particular species have been crossing the barrier of boarder and spreading over the continents. Even the researchers have been modifying different fruits to adopt new environment and soils. Those have already opened a new horizon; so many varieties are seen around! But there is a dark side of the moon. Some ethnic and traditional species is getting out of the market. Those are very difficult to get now a days. Fortunately my students have collected many of the varieties that are rare. I am so pleased to know that they collected some fruits that i didn’t see many years. I am just striving to taste those!!
This year I been to the "Jatiya Brikkho Mela' more than 4 times. I have noticed and studied many of the new varieties. I bought some of the fruit trees that are new in Bangladesh. Some are: Passion fruit of Ivory Coast, Dragon Fruit of Thailand, Longkan from Thiland, Rambutan from Thailand, Dumur of Egypt. I am excited to see the output of this year's effort of mine. I have sent all those to my village home.
All the best to the organizers and participants of the festival. Love you all.

It has been a great success by the students of 24th batch, with an approach that was the 2011 FRUIT FESTIVAL.......which was an awesome experience to myself.

Wishing that this festival will revise more with enlisting greater variations.
