Accountability is the state or quality of being accountable notably, an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions. It is expected that there will be more accountability and transparency in the public sector as the Public sector is mainly working as a representative of mass people of a country.
Being a lower middle-income country, Bangladesh is growing fast with a steady state rate of GDP to be a Developed country by 2041. To get this target smoothly, the ruling Government is trying to ensure more transparency and accountability in the public sector. As a matter of fact, Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), an organization of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has recently published quarterly information of inflation for the very first time which implies the current government's initiative to ensure more transparency in the public sector.
