Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As:
I heard Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) saying, "Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray."
ইসমা‘ঈল ইবন ‘আবূ উওয়ায়স (র)...আবদুল্লাহ্ ইবন ‘আমর ইবনুল ‘আস (র) থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেনঃ আমি রাসূলুল্লাহ্ (সা) কে বলতে শুনেছি যে, আল্লাহ্ তা‘আলা বান্দার অন্তর থেকে ইলম বের করে উঠিয়ে নেবেন না; বরং আলিমদের উঠিয়ে নেওয়ার মাধ্যমেই ইলম উঠিয়ে নেবেন। যখন কোন আলিম বাকী থাকবে না তখন লোকেরা জাহিলদেরই নেতা হিসেবে গ্রহণ করবে। তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে, তারা না জেনেই ফতোয়া দিবে। ফলে তারা নিজেরাও গোমরাহ হবে, আর অপরকেও গোমরাহ করবে।
