Abstract:

The bestowal of proper security to the tourists is a matter of great challenge in terms of tourism industry. To entrench tourist’s safety by using their own smart phone device, a smart and effective security system is proposed in this paper. This system will help local or international tourists to keep themselves safe, secure and alert while travelling various tourist spots throughout the country. The proposed system will use Global Positioning System (GPS) to show safe routes of various destinations and track a tourist everywhere in his/her travelling phase. A safe route notification alerts a tourist about the safest route of a destination even though he/she is not familiar with the tourist zone. The proposed system also facilitates any victim tourist to make voice activated emergency call or to send emergency SMS with GPS coordinates to the police stations located a short distance away or law enforcement group. As a result, it will be a matter of few mouse clicks to Law Enforcing Agencies for ensuring proper security to the tourists which in turn will inspire the tourists around the world for visiting Bangladesh. Keywords: bestowal, GPS, safe route, tourist security, emergency call, emergency SMS, law enforcement group.
