Dear All

Creating brand image of an educational institution is different than an manufacture based organization.

Education is all about quality, quality contents and quality services. So for creating brand image of DIU we have to ensure quality education by admitting quality students and train them practically so that they can compete in the corporate world.

If we observe the top quality private universities try to maintain their quality with quality students, faculty members and administration. I think we have to focus on these issues first that will automatically create our brand image in the market.

Sir (Md. Dara Abdus Satter), i totally agree with you. I think you have understood the actual branding of an university. We have to concentrate on quality not quantity. It takes time. Only TV advertising does not make any impact on university branding unless the quality of the student  is upgraded.

I think, its time for the DIU to make admission exam mandatory for all the students. Students who would be unsuccessful in the admission exam would create an image to outsiders or other students by saying  "i wanted to get admission in DIU but i did not get chance, i will try next time".

There is huge difference between marketing and branding. Can anyone shed some light on that?

You own your marketing but your service receivers own your brand.

Marketing is your message. Your brand is who you are.

Marketing is storytelling. The most powerful branding happens when you listen, not when you talk. Your consumers will tell you what your brand is..

Marketing is about organizing events, programs, etc but branding is about total quality management. It is not about documentation but it is about the total perception and evaluation of your customers.

Marketing is about promoting your name and actions but branding is about analyzing the impact of those activities.
