In this modern era everything is becoming digitalized. And so is the crimes. As everything from business,education to health support is going internet based so the security of the internet is becoming a major concern day by day. We can imagine the necessity only by two most recent major cyber crimes happened. One is the Bangladesh Bank cyber heist & another is Facebook hack of 90 million users. So internet privacy and security has become a major concern for personal as well as financial purposes.

In the article I’ll be discussing about the profession of ethical hacking more like cyber security expert and it’s prerequisites.

Supply & Demand :
Cybercrime industry growing rapidly everywhere in the world & cybersecurity can't keep up. A current research suggests cybersecurity skills shortage is getting worse. Because of the lack of skills the demand is getting higher. So, this is a very good opportunity for IT students to take necessary steps and grasp this opportunity.

Prerequisites :

Earn a degree : Getting a degree in specific field is very important because most of the companies require people with certificates as well as skills. Any bachelor degree in computer science field is relevant for this.
Get proper knowledge in networking including TCP/IP,UDP and other network protocols like IPv4,IPv6,http,https,ftp,ssh etc.
Knowledge of Linux and Windows server management will help. Mainly the knowledge of UNIX based operating systems.
Cloud based skills.
System & Software Security, Secure Architecture, Network Security.
Cryptography.
Database Security
Secure Data Transmission

Python for Security : The effectiveness & importance of python has become broader in terms of cyber security. It’s also known as the language of hackers & penetration testers. So interested students should try to learn python after learning C,C++ .

CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) : This is an advanced course for computer science students who wants to be specialized in cyber security & ethical hacking. A CEH certificate can help a lot in terms of professional fields.

OWASP and Other common Vulnerabilities :
Security experts should always keep a track of most common ways and techniques of hackers breaking into a system. They should always be aware about them and always take necessary steps to be protected from them.

Penetration Tester : A tester in computer science is known to be a part of testing things to see whether they work properly or not. And this is one of the most important part of it security. To check the system for errors and to solve them is also a job of a cyber security expert. Errors causes vulnerabilities. So, Continuous testing and developing is required to keep the system safe. This is a section of security field which we will discuss in details afterwards.

CISSP : Candidates must have a minimum of five years cumulative paid work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP CBK. Earning a four-year college degree or regional equivalent or an additional credential from the (ISC)² approved list will satisfy one year of the required experience. Education credit will only satisfy one year of experience.
A candidate who doesn’t have the required experience to become a CISSP may become an Associate of (ISC)² by successfully passing the CISSP examination. The Associate of (ISC)² will then have six years to earn the five years required experience.
Work Experience
Your work experience must fall within two or more of the eight domains of the (ISC)² CISSP CBK:
Domain 1. Security and Risk Management
Domain 2. Asset Security
Domain 3. Security Architecture and Engineering
Domain 4. Communication and Network Security
Domain 5. Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Domain 6. Security Assessment and Testing
Domain 7. Security Operations
Domain 8. Software Development Security
