Department of Real Estate (DRE) started its journey on 4th February 2008 as a unique department at Daffodil International University having its main campus at Dhanmondi, the heart of the capital of Bangladesh while it has the largest green campus among all private universities of Bangladesh at Ashulia, Dhaka. Department of Real Estate, DIU is the pioneer in Bangladesh in offering undergraduate degree in Real Estate. At the very beginning, the journey of the department was started with only one student under the headship of Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman. As a prominent department of DIU, DRE started its operation with a view to producing quality graduates to meet-up the growing needs of the real estate industry. Presently the department is offering 4- year bachelor program with major in Banking & Finance, Land Management and Marketing, while the Master of Real Estate program has been approved in the Academic Council of the university and now waiting for the final approval of the University Grant Commission (UGC). The department has already been able to produce a good number of Real Estate graduates and all of them are working in different private and public sectors of Bangladesh including real estate. Although the Real estate graduates are specialist for real estate sector, they can work in government organizations, universities, banks & financial institutions, multinational corporations etc. Additionally they have the golden opportunity to become entrepreneur. And some real estate alumni have already been able to prove themselves as successful entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. This department follows global standard course curriculum which is updated from time to time to incorporate the contemporary issues of the real estate industry. Presently the department is nurturing a good handsome number of students under the guardianship of Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship and Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Adviser, Department of Real Estate. DRE has a good team consisting of well-experienced full-time and part-time teachers with local and global exposure where Mr. Nurul Mohammed Zayed, Assistant Professor is playing the role of the Head of the department.
