Psychology:

Psychology is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental functions and behavior. Psychologists study such phenomena as perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships. Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including issues related to everyday life

The study of the mind and of the behavior of people and other organisms.

ADVERTISEMENT:

Advertising is a form of communication that typically attempts to persuade potential customers to purchase or to consume more of a particular brand of product or service.
Advertisement is the way of influence people, in a psychological perspective, to buy the advertised product or service.
   In Webster's dictionary Advertising is defined "as the action of calling something to the  attention of the public especially by paid announcements, to call public attention by emphasizing desirable qualities so as to arouse a desire to buy or patronize: promote."

WAY OF ADVERTISEMENT

In today there is various ways to show their product to the consumers.
1.   ADVERTISING MEDIA
2.   TV-COMMERCIALS
3.   PRINTED ADVERTISING
4.   DIRECT MAILING
5.   Mobile billboard advertising
 
Relationship between psychology & advertisement

Advertising has been a form of glorifying or gaining publicity for goods and merchandize since very early times. In fact, advertising has been around as an informal concept.
Advertisement to be effective, the communication must be sent and received as Advertising is a two way communication process

             (Good) Advertising= (good) Images + (some) Psychology (items)

FACTORS OF ADVERTISEMENT:

1. Choose an appropriate medium to convey your message.
2. Don't believe that everyone uses media the way you does.
3. Be relevant.
4. Develop a relationship with your customers and prospects.
5. Give people something that makes them remember you.

Fear- Cautions and Social awareness
Fun and pleasure -Entertain, Attract, Motivate

Advertising persuade people to buy things they don’t need and to be wasteful, but advertising also means creating more jobs. Regardless whether we like advertisements or not, advertising has become indispensable in our economies.  Moreover, advertisements are an important source of information for the public.

Understanding of consumer psychology makes a person a great marketing person. Consumer Behavior, Marketing Communication, Advertising course is very important for the students who want to build their career in marketing. These courses gives very details of psychology and advertising.
