Deep breathing exercise to clear mind and relieve stress

Deep breathing is one of the best ways to reduce stress in the body. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. The brain then sends this message to your body. Those things that happen when you are stressed, such as increased heart rate, fast breathing, and high blood pressure, all decrease as you breathe deeply to relax.

The process of Deep Breathing Exercise:

•Sit comfortably and place one hand on your abdomen.

•Breathe in through your nose, deeply enough that the hand on your abdomen rises.

•Hold the air in your lungs, and then exhale slowly through your mouth, with your lips puckered as if you are blowing through a straw.

•The secret is to go slow: Time the inhalation (4 second), pause (4 second), and exhalation (6 second).

•Practice for 3 to 5 minutes.
