Subtext in "Waiting for Godot"
Samuel Beckett was an innovator. He created a completely new kind of play and in doing so he greatly enlarged the scope of theatre. In the "Waiting for Godot" subtext is used as new variety in writing drama. In the drama subtext is more than text. The subtext makes the play more vivid.Though this we can understand the situation what is going on.It describes the emotion of the characters.Without this subtext this drama will be a half work.It conveys the inner feelings of the character of the play.It gives the clear picture of the drama which the reader can easily imagine. The subtext makes the play interesting and pictorial.

Hi Group,

It is nice to know about “subtext”, meaning or set of meanings which is implied rather than explicitly stated in a literary work, especially in a play. Modern plays, in which the meaning of the action is sometimes suggested more by silences and pauses than by dialogue alone, are often discussed in terms of their hidden subtexts.
I think understanding or creating (?) subtext is more important now days in daily life, I mean when we are dealing with the longest unscripted lifetime performance on this beautiful world. Everyday life is leaded by decisions and actions those are facilitate by perception and perception can be created from understanding of subtext many ways.
I am enjoying this conversation very much!
Developmentally yours,

                                                                     The character of Mrs. Callender

Mrs. Callender was the wife of Major Callender. She typifies the Anglo Indian mindset. Openly dismissing the Indians as uncultured inferiors . She was very charming lady. She always extended her helping hands to the civil Surgeon by caring his bag. She has a great sympathy to Indian woman. That's why she always would like to such kind of behavior with them. She was a nurse before her marriage. And she served a great deal with Indian . Even she was very emotional woman as well as a compassionate lady. Though she represent as  a n English woman , she did not keeping her distance from the Indians whom she likes. She was also courageous and truthful lady. Yet she had a great loves for the natives . Even she wants to make a relationship with Indian so that she cam know Indians . Another time we can see she wanted all Indians to be treated well.
