A good leader is a visionary person who can foresee the future. Many leaders are shortsighted and have narrow-minded approach or narrow understanding to a particular situation. Short sightedness is so common is that people feel that they cannot accurately predict the future. Good leaders and managers should look beyond their current activities. Focusing on small issues might hamper future prospects. In Marketing, it's called marketing myopia which is the mistake of paying more attention to the specific issues than to the benefits and experiences produced by the same.

A good leader can turn unproductive members of his/her team into productive ones. New research has found some Australians still see older people as a burden on society. Deaken university's Associate Professor David Mellor says young people perceived older people as unproductive. Old people are considered to be unproductive because maybe they have nothing else to dream for or long for. In Bangladesh old people(55+) who are still working are sometimes seen to be gossip mongers. Some of them are seen to talk too much on unnecessary issues while some of them tend to be biased on their own judgment.

A good leader knows how to make his/her unproductive(if so!) old employee busy by delegating due responsibilities and thus, turn him or her into a productive employee of the organization.

In many organizations in Bangladesh, skilled people are underpaid while people of average caliber are overpaid and overvalued..The reasons are many. Some people have face-value while others have nepotism. Some have buttering or flattering skills. Values should be based on abilities. A good leader can identify who should be motivated, recognized, and valued and paid how much....

Some bosses in some organizations in Bangladesh are very rigid while others are autocratic. Some have ego problem. They don't want to listen to others. They take decisions alone. They think they are always right. Time is changing. Bosses should be democratic.  They should be objective, flexible, wise and considerate.

Mili madam,
I liked your slogan when you said "problems are signs of life, face it bravely!" Our Honorable Chairman also often sir says, he likes problems because without problems, there is nothing to be solved...

thanks Shibli Sir....I read this line in the writing of Norman Vincent Peale...where he said that living persons have problems. If you don't have problems,it is rather worrysome. You have problems, congratulation as you are alive! These lines inspired me a lot & I get strength from these lines when I face any problem. Problems give us chance to invent techniques of dealing the problems which gives pre-idea of solving future problems!

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition." Steeve Jobs

1- Be passionate
Passionate individuals establish and convey an emotional connection with their topic. Starbucks founder Howard Schultz once told me that he communicates by telling stories. For example, when he tried to get skeptical investors to back the concept behind the "Bean Stock" program offering health benefits and stock options to part-timers, he told the story of his father who was left without a safety net when he broke his leg at work. Schultz is committed to building a company that treats employees with dignity and respect. Underlying this commitment emotionally helps convey its impact.

2- Have boundless energy
Charismatic individuals keep themselves in great shape and exude exceptional energy when entering a room. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has more energy than most anyone on his staff. But he works at it. Despite a heavy schedule running the world's fifth largest economy, he finds time to work out daily. He says that doing so is essential for maintaining the energy he needs to meet the demands of his enormous responsibilities and public appearances.

3- Articulate a bold vision
Inspiring business professionals articulate a bold and inspiring vision. During an interview, Intuit founder Scott Cook considers it vital to communicate a big vision -- especially for employees. "Your people want to know that their work is adding up to a great cause... that they're working for more than a paycheck," he said. One of the most famous examples of communicating a bold vision comes from legendary entrepreneur Steve Jobs. Jobs convinced one-time Pepsi CEO John Scully to take the helm of Apple by asking him, "Do you want to sell sugared water the rest of your life, or do you want a chance to change the world?" Scully didn't take long to take up the challenge.
