Lurex is the brand name for a type of yarn with a metallic appearance. The twine is most commonly a synthetic fibre, onto which an aluminium layer has been vaporised. "Lurex" may also refer to cloth created with the yarn.
Lurex® is also a registered trademark for quality metallic yarns with a unique international reputation for quality, service and innovative development.

What are the uses of it??

I agree with Fatima madam. Actually Lurex is the brand name of a special kind of yarn which is commonly made of aluminium but can be formed from silver or copper too. This type of yarn is commercially used in the various woven fabrics along the warp or weft way during the looming process. Lurex yarn is specially used for the ornamentation of woven fabrics such as Denim, Oxford, Corduroy, twill etc.
