Business Administration / A Survey on Code Switching in your Lessons
« on: June 11, 2017, 09:35:06 AM »
Dear Colleagues,
We are currently working on a research project. We are trying to find out how much of your lesson-time ( 10%, 20%. 30%, 40%, 50% etc.) you spend in explaining the contents of your lessons in Bengali. What are the reasons that you have to use L1 (mother tongue) in your lessons?
Thank you for your sincere cooperation and honest opinion.

Tina,
Please let others in the department and outside the department know about this and encourage them to join in. I think we 'll get a fantastic real life picture of  ELT situation to refer to.
Thank you.

Dear Colleagues,
We need your support in this. Please help us with just a couple of minutes for a class survey. Just ask the students:
1. "How many of you would like the lessons to be in 100% English?"
The students will respond by raising  hands only. You note the result in a piece of paper how many out how many raised their hands.
Then ask a second question:
2. How many of you would like 10%-20% lecture in Bengali and the rest in English?
The students will raise their hands and you please take count to note how many among how many raised their hands.
Then please post the results in this string in Forum.
Thank you for your help.
