I want to draw admin's serious concern on this. I just tried it on my ID and found that there is no A+ notification although i had several ones in previous semester. So does the system has problem showing A+ sign ??

I am from CSE Department L1T4 batch. I am developing a social networking and community web application for CSE student of Bangladesh.
I hope, My work will be finished within 2 months. Then I want to integrate this CSE Student application to DIU web system. I have also talked other university who are based on their digital system & they also want to integrate this application with their own university's website.
I will recently discuss about this matter with our (DIU) web team. And I think they will help me.
And also I have some great Idea that is very helpful and new in Bangladesh for students. But how will I submit my idea with our university authority, I don't know. But I want to do something better.
I am personally a professional web developer. Working in this field since 4 years. Also work as a outsource freelancer since 2 years.

I would like to share some of my personal experience regarding Digital University issue. I think I had the true taste of real digital university at this moment. By using the Social Web, currently i am always with my students 24x7. Students can communicate with me regarding their study, problems, as well ideas by and through Social Web. Students starts writing their course blog , course discussion, and received their events (exam date, time, venue) through social web, as well they can have chat with me while I am using Social Web. Students can easily check their events, any schedule change regarding class, exam. By start writing the course blog and course discussion they are improving their English writing and communication skills.
I would like to thanks the University authority to make the university truly digital. Its now really effective, time worthy, and first ever in Bangladesh. I would like to request all the faculties and students to start access the Social Web to make the university truly digital.

What is it?
DIU Teacher Student Class Feedback System (DIUTSCFS) also known as Socialweb; is a web 2.0 technology based Educational System and designed for produce a better learning environment between Teachers and Students through online. (url: http://socialweb.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd/)
Objectives:
The main objectives of the system are:
-Get the feedback from the Students to the Teacher just after every class. (about the lessons)
-Get the immediate Answers or Solutions by the Teacher to the Students. (or by the Students to Students)
-Establish the Collaborative Learning Environment between Teachers and Students.
Who Are After This:
As the Honorable Chairman Sir of Daffodil International University as well as the former Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Dr. Md. Abu Taher and other Faculty Members were interested to implement the system in CSE Department as a pilot run for one semester, the system was implemented in 6 courses in CSE Department in summer 2010 semester.
In addition, the system was also implemented in 4 courses from 2 other Departments which were beyond the plans. As the 2 Faculty member, Mr. Siddiqur Rahman (Assistant Proffessor, Dept. of Business Administration) and Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam (Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE taking class in Dept. of Textile Engineering) were very interested, the system was also implemented to their courses.
The implementation was done by System Implementation and Support (SIS) team consisting of 7 CSE students, directly Supervised by Dr. Yousuf M Islam (Executive Director, HRD Institute & Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE).
What Are The Features ?
- Students can communicate with Teachers regarding their study, problems, as well as ideas through the individual Course Blogs.
- Course discussions, blog writing etc enable English writing habits
- Email, Chat, Notification etc. enable the easy communication
- Students received their events (exam date, time, venue) through the system
- Users can chat with other users regarding their study related problems.
- The system also gives The Social Community Networking flavors to the users.

Wow......Forum has already become a productive area of discussion. Thank you, Bidita for raising the issue. First of all, social web should be started as a pilot(experimental) program, gradually it can be used in full swing. Mind you, slow and steady wins the race. Many students are still very reluctant to be adapted to internet and technology. Some of them living in mess don't have any computer while others hardly use internet. Even I couldn't make a large portion of my students to become members of the forum. Once all the students get the laptop and each teacher has a laptob, the implementation of social web will be effective and appreciated.
However, you must be appreicted for raising the issue in advance. You are one step ahead than most other students in thinking to make DIU as a truly digital university.

We are not far away from online tuition fee payment. Hopefully within next year it will be implemented. At first Phase Card holder will get this opportunity then online payment through bank transfer will be implemented.

In point of my view digital university refers to university which is completely fullfild by tecnology and can make successful use of information system which is very essential for all the students and authority. Really I liked this line of one earlier post & I personally also believe this....Really in this digital age, our university is trying to be up-to-date by trying to give all technological facilities to students & employees...we should make use of these to develop our skills...very few universities are giving this facility to their students...DIU students are lucky to have this..:)

Education has become ever more dependent on information technology nowadays. No student as well as no educational institution can dispense with it now. Computer, internet, and other elements of ICT have been an essential part of modern education. In view of that, DIU has taken a pragmatic project of providing laptps for all students for enhancing their capacity in utilizing ICT and thus making them competent for the competitive job market with the state-of-the-art technology. With all ICT automation facilities for students and employees such as e-library, e-registration, e-education, learning feedback system, job tracking, virtual university, enterprise resource planning system, wifi connection on campus, the university has already made significant attempts at improving the efficiency of human resources.
It is envisaged that DIU graduates can stand out by competing with other graduates both nationally and globally with their aptitude and prowess that they will acquire from this university. We are already distributing laptops for our students as we have promised to them. Thus, the initiative to provide a laptop for each student free of cost will be fruitful and successful with the mission of forging a digital society that will ensure an ICT driven knowledge-based nation.

I've a suggestion to share with you, may be my suggestion can be illogical, but I think If it can possible, than it should be implemented...............
Suggestion: To be one step ahead in the term of DIGITIZATION, is it possible to make all the students ID cards in a new mode, that is "PUNCH CARD" system????? Like I've seen that in the main campus building????
