2) Repeat and/or exaggerate sound(s) or word(s).

3) Expands what child says.

I remember talking a lot to my girl before she started speaking, used to read story books to her, recite, sing. When she was 2 and still not speaking much, I was a little worried. But to our surprise she showed a good store of vocabulary when finally she started speaking though a bit late. Children store everything!
