BBA Discussion Forum / Gratitude to teachers & CDC
« on: December 22, 2012, 07:01:05 PM »
The name i must respect & recall all the time "Sabrina Mem (Faculty of Business & Economics)", who furnished me the opportunity of Internship in IDLC Finance Limited through CDC. This may look a small opportunity to all, but in my case, it brought a new beginning in my life. Me & another DIU student "Abu Yousuf" got internship opportunity in IDLC after facing Two interviews (Viva & Computer test). after four months intern period they liked our performance & asked to join IDLC & we did the same. Now IDLC believes, yes, DIU students are also competent. In this effect, they have recruited two more interns from DIU in this semester & it will be continued.

My intention of sharing this story carries a big desire. we, DIU students just need some opportunity to prove ourself. If our respectable teachers use their personal relations to bring some opportunity for their beloved students, I am sure, the day is knocking the door, when companies will come to DIU with their Job offering.

BBA Discussion Forum / Re: Green banking
« on: December 22, 2012, 06:31:50 PM »
well appreciable post. want continuous update. anyways, green banking includes all environmentally safe activities, from financing to the businesses which is environmentally safe to building green attitudes among the concerned bankers. Moreover, Bangladesh bank has already set up some regulations to protect environment which discourage banks to finance environmentally hazard sectors.

BBA Discussion Forum / Re: 8 Good Reasons of Teamwork.....
« on: January 27, 2012, 08:19:55 PM »
I must agree with all of you that team work is very important to achieve some specified objectives or complete any task in a coordinated way. but, it's time to think how many teams are efficient and accumulating their specialized knowledge together while doing some assignments assigned by their superiors. there is very common problem that one or two members are working for the team and rest of the members sleeping. I don't know what to do in that situation? I am in search of the solution for this problem since I am facing the problem from my first semester.

BBA Discussion Forum / Re: How to draw a pie chart

It would be better, you find someone in your friend circle or seniors who is well conversant with Microsoft excel and then learn practically. It is hard to write the procedures of "How to draw a Pie chart" here.

The conversation was starting like that “If you use mobile phone while driving car, what will be the amount of fine? We said tk. 100. She again said, if anyone dies in an accident with your car while you are driving car and at the same time you are using mobile phone. Should it fine tk.100? Can you compensate for the life? We said, obviously, not. Then she replied, yes this is part of humanity, ability to learn, spontaneous learning”

Yes, we had an experiential co-operative class with “Begum Rokeya Prachi” last Friday, where we learned from each other. The class specially was about “Advertising” which is regularly conducted by Syed Mizanur Rahman. He arranged this class to get us learned and concerned about How advertising agency works, How creative persons work, How media planners plan their media and so on.

The discussion among us and Begum Rokeya prachi was like get to real life. The class was fully co-operative where we were free to ask any questions and build relationships. In that particular discussion we were apart from our syllabus. She disclosed how they actually works and what kind of constraints the face.

Some words she told while ending the discussion which is very much influential is “Do something good, yes, you will get many obstacles but you just continue that. It will make you honorable and happy”.

Finally, I would like to say thanks to our Raju sir for arranging such kind of co-operative class, where we could learn about practical life.

BBA Discussion Forum / Re: Formal report writing (format)...

dear faiyaz

You are right little bit...every report should not contain your frutistic appeals...you are telling about marketing plan or any other business plan which should include some motivational appeals..but, when you are reporting on one company's job satisfaction among employees, comparisons of performanace between tow or more companies, evaluation of different business sectors and so on then it is important to mention all the relevent information and possible efficient points rather than frutistic appeling...

BBA Discussion Forum / Formal report writing (format)...
« on: March 02, 2011, 09:54:58 PM »
our teachers most often assigns us to prepare a formal report on various topics. To prepare a sound formal report it requires a proper format. I am willing to provide a formal report writing format, which can help all the students...

Prefatory components:

• Title fly---(Name of the report)
• Title page---(submitted to, submitted by, date)
• Letter of transmittal---(to whom it is going to submit)
• Acknowledgement---(Name of supporters)
• Executive summery
• Table of content
• List of tables and graphs (Illustrations)

The Report Proper:

• Introduction
• Objective of the report
• Scope of the study
• Methodology (what kind of Method be used)
• Limitations (obstacles and barriers you faced  to collect  information/ data and write report in a proper way)
• Background of the company / industry / Report
• Analysis (Analyze data and information with logical arguments and if necessary place tables and graphs)
• Report findings (Both Positive and negative based on your analysis)
• Recommendation
• Conclusion

Appended Part:

• Bibliography (References both print and Electronic)----Roman front

dear ashiq vi

your topic is good but needs to explain shortly...this is too much large & anybody gets bored to read this...you need not to define all the chapters...If you have real experience regarding capital market, you should iclude...such as ,How to start? what are the requirements to start? what are the A,B,C category companies? how to evaluate a company's share? and other necessary information...

I am sorry for the argument but i think it will help your topic to more organised...

dear all

It seems very nice to have all of your participation on this topic also for valuable comments..actually,we are going through a traditional method..one member is working but rest of members are sleeping..why do we work for assignment??Assignment is the full review of the course we do for..It is the practical implementation of the course..

so,If someone fails to work in assignment or intentionally does not participate in the assignment then he fails to understand all the aspects of the course...so,it is quiet important to get all the students working in Assignment whether it is group or individual..

Dear shah-al-mamun

I know it is not so much easy to implement and our authority can not ensure that all the students will follow this...As we know if we want better output,we should make proper input...In fact, the system of assignment is following by students whether it is group or individual assignment...it just needs to more organized...

However, this is my point of view..our respectable authority can consider if they wish..

Actually,I am thinking some apart from others..

the tendency not to participate in group assignment comes from Incapability of the students...If our teachers assign only Individual assignment in first 2 or 3 semesters to get the students concerned and learned about all the aspects of making a sound assignment...after ensuring that all the students are able to prepare a sound assignment then our teachers can give group assignment...this matter can also be included into our foundation class where some lectures will be given how to make a sound assignment? how to make a good presentation slide?...then,our teachers can expect something good from the students..
