Yogurt is a valuable health food for both infants and elderly persons. For children, it is a balanced source of protein, fats, carbohydrates, and minerals in a texture that kids love. When we take antibiotics it not only kills harmful bacteria but also kills helpful bacteria in our body. Yogurt helps to produce these helpful bacteria.

1. Yogurt is easier to digest than milk.
2. Yogurt contributes to colon health.
3. Yogurt improves the bioavailability of other nutrients.
4. Yogurt can boost immunity.

MAKING (CHICKEN/TUNA FISH) FEELING FOR SANDWICHES

Ingredients:
chicken keema/canned tuna fish
finely cut (onion+papaya)
finely cut fresh cucumber, tomato, coriander leaf
tomato ketchup,
mayonnaise/white sauce
salt, black pepper powder

Procedure:

1.  Fry (chopped onion+chopped papaya) a little with very little olive oil, add chicken keema/ tinned tuna fish for few minutes. Then add (tomato ketchup+mayonnaise/white sauce+salt+black pepper powder) and simmer it for some time. Let it cool down.

2. Add finely cut fresh cucumber, tomato, coriander leaf

3. We can refrigerate this tasty (chicken/ tuna paste)

4. Spread it over bread and use it as feeling for sandwiches at any time

We are familiar with brushing our teeth but maybe very few of us floss our teeth after eating and before brushing. But we should know it is very important to floss our teeth.

Proper flossing removes  plaque  and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot easily reach — under the gumline and between our teeth. Because plaque(a steaky substance always forming in our teeth) can lead to tooth decay and gum disease, daily flossing is very important.

When used properly, floss are excellent at removing plaque and debris.

Do we know what happens to our teeth after we eat?

Food and bacteria together cause our tooth to decay. A sticky substance containing bacteria is always forming on our teeth and gum. When we eat, these bacteria make acids. This acids attack the teeth for 20 minutes or more after eating. Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay, tooth loss .

If this tooth decay is faster than what our tooth can repair then these bacteria causes tremendous pain, infection and may spread to different parts of our body, and in some cases may even cause death.

We can easily prevent tooth decay by brushing and flossing your teeth regularly i.e keeping our tooth clean as soon as we eat. If  the tooth damage is too much then we need to go to the dentist and do teeth feeling or root canal.

Science Discussion Forum / Drinking GREEN tea in a healthy way
« on: November 23, 2011, 09:42:35 AM »
Usually in our country we drink milk tea i.e. we boil the tea with water then add sugar and milk. But as we go on boiling the tea more and more caffeine is produced which stimulates our nervous system and removes drowsiness and restores alertness for sometime.

Although we need to have tea and coffee to keep our nervous system fresh and alert but too much caffeine is bad for our health.

In our country green tea is not so popular as milk tea or black tea. Green tea as we know from other posts is good for health. So we should make green tea in such a way so its nutrients are preserved when we drink it.

Procedure: we should boil water, then pour the water (around 1 liter) in a tea-pot. Then add a tea spoon of green tea in the hot water and stir. We should have it as a light tea. We can drink it hot or cold. Usually it is taken without sugar.

So lets drink GREEN tea and be healthy in GREEN BANGLADESH

CREATING A SUN ON EARTH
::)
(FUSION REACTOR):  is the ultimate solution for meeting our increasing demand of ENERGY

Energy is vital

Modern society depends on access to a ready supply of energy. Energy is used everywhere: for transport, eating, lighting, and in industry and agriculture. At the moment, most of this energy is produced by burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, some comes from nuclear fission, and a small amount is produced by  renewable sources, mostly hydroelectric and biomass.

Energy demand is increasing
Even with considerable efforts on energy saving, world energy demand may double over the next 50 years. This is  because per capita consumption is increasing and the world’s population is expected to grow from 6 billion today to  almost 10 billion in 2050.

Protecting the environment

The burning of fossil fuels generates carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas which traps solar radiation. There are growing concerns about the resulting global warming and other damaging effects on the environment. Action is needed now to ensure a mix of long-term, secure and sustainable energy supplies, able to reduce the environmental impact and satisfy growing energy demand.

Fusion: an option for safe and sustainable energy supply

Fusion is the process which powers the sun and the stars. It is energy that makes all life on earth possible. It is called 'fusion' because the energy is produced by fusing together light atoms, such as hydrogen, at the extremely high pressures and temperatures which exist at the centre of the sun (15 million ºC). At the high temperatures experienced in the sun any gas becomes plasma, the fourth state of matter (solid, liquid and gas being the other three).

Fusion offers the possibility of an emission-free and reliable long-term energy supply with some important
advantages:

• Fusion power stations can be made inherently safe – ‘runaway’ or ‘meltdown’ accidents are impossible;
• The fuels are abundant everywhere for large-scale production;
• Day-to-day operation of a fusion power station does not require the transport of radioactive materials;
• There are no greenhouse gas emissions; and
• With a suitable choice of materials, waste will not be a long-term burden on future generations.

How fusion works

Atoms of light elements, such as hydrogen, collide and fuse together at the extremely high pressures and temperatures which exist at the centre of the sun (about 15 million degrees Celsius). This process releases a large amount of energy but at a rather slow rate. To increase this rate on Earth, scientists have succeeded in producing gas with temperatures ten times higher in fusion devices. Megawatts of power have been produced for a few seconds. In Europe, this has been achieved in the Joint European Torus (JET), the world's largest fusion device which currently holds the world record for fusion power.

Fusion Projects

European Union, Japan, USA, Former USSR, China, South Korea, and India are looking forward to construct a large experimental facility, called ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, will be constructed by 2016). This will build on the success on medium-sized devices in laboratories. ITER will be the path to safe and sustainable fusion power. It will generate 500MW of power for periods of initially up to ten minutes, and should be able to sustain steady-state operation. It will thus demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power in a device of power station dimensions.
