Title: Way to look at students
Post by: Sheikh on April 25, 2016, 09:50:02 AM
Being a teacher I feel myself very responsible person. This responsibility in a brief is towards any student and in a broader sense towards the society. When I look at students eye, I see the thirst for learning but it depends on me whether I make it very easy and understandable to them. As they will be in profession, so I always relate the subject topics with professional experience. Hence I need to work in a part-time job, not only for gaining experience for myself but also for the students. This two thing- academic quality enhancement and professional involvement thus create huge pressure for me, to make a lecture. So in lecture plan I always focus on their engagement. When they are engaged in any assignment or presentation, they learn something. I also prefer group study. I frequently take them to site visit ( as my class size is small), I share different projects to them. So I prepare myself to be a teacher, who focus on students capability and at the same time their quality enhancement. Sometimes I don't complete my lecture plan fully, as I find there is a lack in students understanding. How can I move forward to lecture-2 if there is a problem in lecture-1. So teaching is all about understanding your students, in my opinion. So I feel when we look at students, how much I shall expect depends on how much I shall give time also.

Thanks for sharing. Such a sharing sometimes helps a teacher to rethink about his teaching strategy for overall developement of teacher and student.
