Two more Bangladeshi citizen have been killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday taking the total of deaths in their hands on the border to 51 in last nine months.

It may be pointed out that according to news agency report, some 875 Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Bangladesh-India border from January 2000 to August 31 this year. During the period, the BSF also fired and wounded 923 people and kidnapped 933 others, according to 'Odhikar', a rights group. Some 51 Bangladeshi people were killed by BSF in the last nine months this year.

Seven JSC examinees killed in road crash in Bogra

Seven people including five Junior School Certificate ((JSC) examinees were killed and four others injured as a bus rammed into a shallow-engine run vehicle carrying the students at Kashimpur in Shibganj upazila Monday.



The tragic accident occurred at about 12:30 pm when 11 people including nine students of Syedpur Islamia High School were going to Mogamtola High School examination center in the shallow-engine run vehicle locally known as 'Bhotbhoti'.

Witnesses said a Rangpur bound bus from Bogra hit the three-wheeler from behind, leaving four JSC students dead on the spot and seven people seriously wounded.

Locally-made laptop costing Tk 10,000-Tk 15,000 and cell phone at Tk 1,000-Tk 3000 will be available in the market within next six months after resolving certain legal complications.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju announced this at a news conference at the PID conference room Sunday afternoon.
He said the government has also undertaken projects to manufacture PSTN (land) telephone set, mobile phone set, mobile battery charger and electric digital meter (for power sector) and market those products under own initiative.

Besides, said the process is also underway to introduce 3G mobile technology in the country within next three months with the financial assistance of the Chinese government, Raju said.

Replying to a question, he said the use of teletalk mobile telephone sponsored by the government has increased and measures are being taken for the survival of teletalk competing with other mobile phone operators.

The Telecommunications Minister said the recent election of Bangladesh to the ITU Council for a four-year term would help digitalize Bangladesh.
Listing various development programs in the telecom sector, he said all villages will be brought under Internet connection by 2015, connecting all government institution with Internet by establishing a national network. Besides, Broadband connection will be increased to 30 per cent by 2015.
The Minister said mobile money order service and cash card have already been introduced and project has been undertaken to establish e-center at 8,000 post offices.

As unpleasant as it sounds the dangers of global warming are causing people to look for other sources of protein. As 80% of the world’s population already eats insects, it might not be too long before you find dishes like “Red Ant Stir-fry” and “Scorpion Soup” appearing on the menu of your favorite Mexican restaurant.

Insect protein is much easier to raise than conventional sources of protein. Insects need less water to grow and less energy. That’s because insects don’t need to grow feathers, horns or any other pointless, inedible extras. They also require less space and breed like, well insects. Let’s take a look at some of the world's most delicious insect dishes.

1.  Cheesy Mayo June Beetle Dip

For this nutritious recipe, simply blend cottage cheese, lemon juice, skimmed milk and spices. Once a smooth creamy consistency is attained, add whole June bugs for a crunchy texture. Be sure to remove their wings and heads. June bugs contain 13.4g of protein, so they are perfect for growing kids or after a long work out at the gym. This recipe is apparently sweeping through Maine and Arizona, proving once and for all that bugs are coming back in style.

2.  Water Beetle a la Cr�me

Although the look of this dish is enough to give small children nightmares, this concoction is a popular dinner in Asia and India. Add 250 grams of water beetles to a pot of boiling water containing a little salt and soda, and boil for 2 minutes until tender. Put your water beetles into a saucepan, and season with salt, butter and cream.

Garnish water beetles with herbs and serve it hot. Giant water beetles contain 19.8g of protein, 13.6mg of iron and a whopping 43.5mg of calcium per 100g. This dish may keep the dentist away, but it’s going to be a while until it catches on outside of the Orient.

3.  Locust Stew

Probably the most revolting, or should we say challenging, aspect of cooking locusts is in the preparation. Willing foodies will first remove the wings, then the small legs and the spiky ends of the hind legs. Lastly, pull off the head, which should take with it any attached viscera.

If you imagine that the giant locust is in fact a mutated prawn, this is easier to accomplish. Boil the locusts in saltwater, add frozen vegetables, butter, salt and vinegar and cook for about 20 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Serve over rice and crunch into that bad boy!

4.  Grasshopper Kebabs

Grasshoppers are one of the most nutritious insects in the world, as they contain 20g of protein and very little fat. Clearly the hopping keeps them nice and trim. Collect some grasshoppers by running a box along the ground and watch as they jump inside, unaware of the culinary horror that awaits them.

Be sure to wash these critters before popping them in the freezer. Heat the oven to 180 degrees. In the mean time you can prepare your favorite marinade. Once the bugs are frozen, skewer them together with green peppers, onion, pineapple and potato cubes. Finger licking good.

5.  Crunchy Dung Beetle Fritters

For many unwary readers, the appeal of deep fried food is forever lost – thanks to this recipe. Take a cup of sifted flour, a bit of baking powder, salt, milk, 1 egg and 180g of dung beetles. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl.

Slowly add milk and beat until smooth. Add the egg and beat them again, beat them until they’re dead! Pluck off your dung beetles head, wings and legs. Finally, dip them into the egg batter and deep fry. It changes the entire meaning of ‘eh, what could it be?’

6.  Crickets on Sticks

This is one of the easier dishes to prepare and the most nutritious. Like a scene out of Survivor, simply skewer crickets onto a long stick, salt and roast over an open flame until crispy. Now that the easy parts over, you have to eat them. Fear not – crickets contain a lot of natural iron, so it’ll keep your strength up while you savor the rest.

 

7.  Caterpillar Sushi

This is for those insect lovers that prefer a stylish arrangement of their food. Bet you thought all bug food was hideous, didn’t you! Place your fresh caterpillars onto your rice molds and garnish with mayo, avocado and sesame seeds. This is not to be confused with caterpillar-free caterpillar rolls that you can get at your local Japanese restaurant. Always ask just in case.

There are more than a million species of known insects in the world. Some are quite harmless, while others are just designed to kill. Separating the good ones from the bad, this list states some unique facts about the ten most dangerous members of the insect world, especially for those who until now had underestimated these creatures because of their size:
1.  Human Bot Fly

Ok this is seriously horrifying. When these parasites are ready to reproduce, they look for a warm moist place on the human body to lay their eggs on. Sometimes they use a carrier like a mosquito to drop of the eggs. The heat of the body causes the eggs to hatch and for the next eight weeks the larvae burrows itself inside the human skin and feed off the human tissue. And here�s the most creepy part the larvae can grow anywhere in your body, including the brain. These facts about the Human Bot fly were enough to send chills down my spine and include this insect in my list.

2.  Kissing bugs
Found in South and Central America and the southern United States, these bugs are equipped with sucking tubes at the end of their mouths, with which they drain out the victim�s blood by painlessly piercing the lips, eyelids or ears. Their bites can transmit the Chaga�s disease into the prey�s body, which can result in chronic neurological disorders and serious damage to the heart and the digestive system. So if you�re in any of the above mentioned areas, make sure you close your windows before going to sleep, because believe me you don�t want to be kissed by these bugs!

3.  Fleas
Ever heard about the infamous Bubonic Plague that wiped out One-sixth of the world�s population in the 1340s? These blood sucking parasites were the ones behind it. They feed on warm-blooded vertebrates, and can infest an area rather quickly. The wound caused by a flea bite swells up in a pustule and can cause allergic reactions. Today fleas are no more than annoying house pests found mostly in our pets, but they were once responsible for killing 75 million which is why they are considered to be so dangerous.

4.  Siafu Ants
Moving about in colonies of twenty thousand individuals, these African ants will devour anything to the bone that comes their way. They are so strong that if you tear them in half after being bitten, their jaws will still be locked in your skin. Their queen holds the record for being the largest ant. Watch out for them if you ever happen to go on an African Safari.

5.  Wasps
Wasps normally don�t sting humans unless they consider them a threat, but if they do, they can cause some serious damages. A wasp�s sting can cause a person to go into anaphylactic shock and suffocate to death, or it could cause allergic reactions that can also be life threatening. So if there is a wasp family living in your attic, roof or garden, make sure you don�t get in their way and hire a professional to get rid of them.

6.  Fire Ants
Fire ants got their name from the burning sensation they cause when they sting their victim. The venom injected by their sting causes white pustules to show on the skin after 24 hours. Like all other ant species they also attack in masses but with a slightly different approach. The prey is first bitten by only one and then rest follow, therefore if you�re not quick to escape after the first bite you will surely be consumed by the whole swarm.

7.  Tsetse fly
Found only in Africa, these flies that are often mistaken for houseflies are actually the carriers of the sleeping sickness disease that affects the human nervous system. The disease starts off with the victim getting a flu, then falling in a coma due to the swelling of the brain and eventually ending in an inevitable death. Each year 250-300 lives are taken by this disease.

8.  Japanese Giant Hornet or Asian Hornet
These giant hornets can reach up to 3 inches in length and have the most painful sting than any other stinging insects. The venom injected from their stingers contains 8 different chemicals that not only cause tissue damage, but also leaves an odor that attracts more hornets to the victim. With a death toll of around 70 people every year, these fatal insects are a definite curse for the Japanese.

9.Killer Bees
Killer Bees or Africanized Honeybees are the result of a scientific experiment gone horribly wrong. The biologists behind this experiment were attempting to create a productive species of bees by interbreeding European honey bees with hardy African bees. But unfortunately this experiment failed and the bees, instead of being productive, developed an aggressive nature. These deadly get provoked very easily and attack in swarms, sometimes repeatedly stinging their victim throughout the day. The death toll which is in thousands is expected to climb up as these bees settle into new territories.

10. Anopheles Mosquito
Mosquitoes are not just your annoying household pests; they are also the carriers of the fatal disease Malaria which takes the lives of hundreds of millions of people every year. And that is why they rank first in our list for causing more deaths than any other insects combined.

Be Alert / The Mosquito is the Most Dangerous Insect in the World

Mosquitoes are probably the most dangerous insects on earth. According to Factmonster.com Mosquitoes causes over 300 million cases of malaria around the world each year. In addition to malaria
 Mosquitoes also carry yellow fever and several other nasty things for your or your pet to catch. According to Mosquitofact.org Mosquitoes do not transmit HIV or Aids, but who cares? They sure can give you all kinds of other unpleasant experiences.

People tend to downplay the threat of Mosquitoes because their bite is seldom painful and often goes unnoticed. However they have probably killed more humans than all other insects combines throughout history.

The best way to avoid Mosquitoes is to deny them breeding areas near your home. Mosquitoes have to have water to lay their eggs in. Get rid of standing water near your home. Anything that collects rainwater can and will also collect Mosquito eggs that will soon hatch and commence to feeding on you and your pets. Keeping brush and tall grass in check around your house will also cut down on the "skeeter" population.

Of course you can have your lawn treated by a professional exterminator and I do recommend this if you have a large population of Mosquitoes. I visited a home once and every step I took in their yard disturbed masses of Mosquitoes; they had hundreds just in their front yard. You can also use a flyswatter to go out and kill them, right before dark is when they start to move around a lot where you can find them.

Mosquitoes are the most active after dark but will also bite during the day. The more of your body covered in clothes, the more you are protected from bites. Avoiding going outside after dark is a good way to avoid Mosquito bites, as is keeping the doors and windows shut at night.

In the sources below you will find more information about the deadliest insect in the world. Most of them say the bug zappers and other anti Msquito devices and traps don't help much. So your best bet to avoid Mosquitoes is to get rid of their breeding areas and avoid going out at night.
