Microsoft has brought Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit version 2.0 out of beta and is making the first release candidate available today. The toolkit, previously known as CNTK, is a system for deep learning used to speed advances in areas such as speech and image recognition and search relevance on CPUs and NVIDIA® GPUs. Cognitive Toolkit can be used on-premises or in the cloud with Azure GPUs.

Cognitive Toolkit is being used extensively by a wide variety of Microsoft products, by companies worldwide with a need to deploy deep learning at scale, and by students interested in the very latest algorithms and techniques. The latest version of the toolkit is available on GitHub via an open source license. Since releasing the beta in October 2016, more than 10 beta releases have been deployed with hundreds of new features, performance improvements and fixes.

Doctors face daily decisions about the best care for their patients, and their own clinical experience can be enhanced using evidence-based medicine, such as through clinical trial data. As David Tovey, Editor-in-Chief, Cochrane, explained, “Before evidence-based medicine came along, people were reliant on the expertise of a doctor, the level of knowledge or understanding that he or she had. And this meant that treatments frequently took many, many years to come from research into practice.”

One of the most robust ways of synthesizing research evidence across healthcare trials is through a systematic review. This involves finding, examining, and analyzing clinical trial data and research reports in a methodical way, to pull together high-quality summaries of how effective healthcare interventions are. This provides critical evidence to decision-makers at the international, national and local level, to make sure citizens receive the medical and social care they deserve. While this is a rigorous approach, it can take up to three years to produce a major systematic review, which limits our ability to use up to date research to guide decision-making.

Cochrane is a not-for-profit organization that creates, publishes and maintains systematic reviews of health care interventions, with more than 37,000 contributors working in 130 countries. The Cochrane Transform Project is using AI and machine learning to text mine thousands of reports to automatically select ones to include in systematic reviews. This saves weeks of monotonous work, freeing up the expert reviewers to spend their time and energy on high-level analysis. Researchers at University College London are using Azure Machine Learning to develop and deploy their text mining classifiers as a cloud service at scale, customized for different clinical assessment groups, in ways that were previously impossible. This is helping to make decisions around healthcare interventions faster and more accurate for millions of people around the world.

Field of study that gives computers the ability to learn without being explicitely programmed.
Tom Michel
A computer program is said to learn from experience E with respect to some class of tasks T and performance measure P, if its performance at tasks in T, as measured by P, improves with experience E.
E = ধরি মেশিনটা ৫০০ টা কম্প্লিট সেট দাবা খেলল
T = দাবা খেলাটাই মেশিনের Task
P = মেশিন খেলায় জিতল না হারল

Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar

Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar

Golam Kawsar

Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar
Tamim Shahriar
Golam Kawsar

Common Forum/Request/Suggestions / Microsoft and deep learning !
« on: April 28, 2017, 12:48:14 PM »
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to combine the power of deep learning with the scalability of distributed computing? Say no more! We present a solution that uses leading-edge technologies to score images using a pre-trained deep learning model in a distributed and scalable fashion.

This post is a follow-up to the “Embarrassingly Parallel Image Classification, Using Cognitive Toolkit and TensorFlow on Azure HDInsight Spark” post that came out recently, and describes the methods and best practices used in configuring the Microsoft deep learning toolkit on an HDInsight cluster. Our approach is described in detail by our full tutorial and Jupyter notebook.

Recipe
Begin with an Azure HDInsight Hadoop cluster pre-provisioned with an Apache Spark 2.1.0 distribution. Spark is a distributed-computing framework widely used for big data processing, streaming, and machine learning. Spark HDInsight clusters come with pre-configured Python environments where the Spark Python API (PySpark) can be used.
Install the Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit (CNTK) on all cluster nodes using a Script Action. Cognitive Toolkit is an open-source deep-learning library from Microsoft. As of version 2.0, Cognitive Toolkit has high-level Python interfaces for both training models on CPUs/GPUs as well as loading and scoring pre-trained models. Cognitive Toolkit can be installed as a Python package in the existing Python environments on all nodes of the HDInsight cluster. Script actions enable this installation to be done in one step using one script, thus eliminating the hurdles involved in configuring each cluster node separately. In addition to installing necessary Python packages and required dependencies, script actions can also be used to restart any affected applications and services in order to maintain the cluster state consistent.
Pre-process and score thousands of images in parallel using Cognitive Toolkit and PySpark in a Jupyter notebook. Python can be run interactively through Jupyter Notebooks which also provide a visualization environment. This solution uses the Cognitive Toolkit Python APIs and PySpark inside a Jupyter notebook on an HDInsight cluster.

Common Forum/Request/Suggestions / Hack the GRE vocabulary !!
« on: April 28, 2017, 12:45:30 PM »
Are you not comfortable with the Verbal section on the GRE?

Does the idea of learning a ton of vocabulary scare you?

Do you think that it is an uphill task for a non-native speaker to learn English quickly?

If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. We’ve got you covered, with our foolproof GRE verbal strategies.

During our conversations with several hundreds of students and test takers from all over the world, we have realized that almost all of the non-native speaking test takers are finding it incredibly hard to improve their verbal score, especially if they only have a few weeks to prepare for the GRE. This seems more prevalent among students who come from an engineering background.

Most of these students are under the impression that a vocabulary-heavy test like the GRE is disadvantageous to those test takers who are not native to speaking the English language. And many of these students believe that Math is not much of a concern to them, and that the Verbal section, especially the vocabulary part, is the only thing that is not letting them score higher on the GRE.

But having said that, if it is your dream to study in the US, it is inevitable that you take this test, and excel at both the Math and the Verbal sections.

And that is why, we have created a list of learning strategies that can help you get over your fear of vocabulary and the English language, and help you increase your Verbal score on the GRE. Here are 21 foolproof GRE verbal strategies that have been tested and used by thousands of successful test takers, who found them very useful in turning their nightmares into strengths.

Try and implement as many of these strategies as you can in the little time that you have, and you will definitely see a score boost on the Verbal section.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is an assessment test required by many graduate schools. Graduate admissions and fellowship panels use GRE results in combination with undergraduate transcripts, personal recommendations, and other criteria to determine who will be accepted into their programs. The test is administered and scored by Educational Testing Service (ETS), a New Jersey organization that is the largest nonprofit testing service in the world.

There are two different GRE assessments offered by ETS: the GRE revised General Test and the GRE Subject Test. Different institutions require either or both tests to be completed. The GRE revised General Test assesses verbal and quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills. The GRE Subject Tests measure achievement in specific fields of study. Each Subject Test has been created to test the knowledge of students who majored in or have extensive knowledge of the subject matter.

Although the GRE revised General Test is designed to gauge general ability, you should not walk into the test without thorough preparation. Keep reading for GRE preparation information and tips that will help you achieve success in this important academic assessment.

Test Centers

There are roughly 700 test centers in more than 160 countries where you can take the GRE revised General Test. Most of these centers offer a computer-based test throughout the year on a continuous basis; in some regions, the test is available on one to three designated days per month. In areas where computer-based testing is unavailable, a paper-based test is offered up to three times per year in February, October, and November.

Detailed information about Test Centers and Dates is available on the ETS website. Members of the military, IR professionals, expats, and other U.S. citizens living abroad should be able to find a test center near their location.

GRE Timeline

Following these steps will help you get started in your GRE preparation:

Make a commitment by registering for a GRE account at My GRE and selecting a test center and date. Your test scores will be delivered to your designated schools 10 to 15 days after you take the test, so be sure to choose a test date that allows your scores to be reported before your application deadlines.
Set a study plan. Experts recommend starting your GRE preparation between 4 and 12 weeks prior to taking the exam. ETS offers free training guides and practice tests to download. There are also a variety of third-part prep courses available (see below).
Try several practice tests throughout your GRE preparation phase. Be sure to replicate the conditions of the exam as much as possible, including using a computer and sticking to strict time limits. Analyze your results and develop strategies for completing each section of the GRE with the highest possible score.
Focus on your weaker areas. For many examinees, the vocabulary questions in the verbal section are among the most challenging. Use word lists, flashcards and other tools to boost your vocabulary skills. For the writing section, complete practice essays and have them critiqued by an instructor or peer. This is important for even the most confident writers. To prepare for the quantitative section, practice completing math operations quickly and make sure you’re familiar with different types of charts and graphs.
As your test date approaches, ensure that you’re prepared both mentally and physically by getting plenty of sleep, maintaining healthy eating habits, and exercising regularly.
Recommended Guidebooks

ETS offers several free and low-cost GRE preparation resources, including short videos that provide tips and strategies. The Official Guide to the GRE revised General Test, which is available as an eBook or paperback, is an essential resource that includes hundreds of test questions and two full-length practice tests.

Another valuable GRE preparation resource is ETS Powerprep II Software, which is available as a free download on the ETS website. Powerprep II provides comprehensive overviews of each section of the exam as well as two full computer-based practice exams. Scored samples of Analytical Writing essays are also provided along with test-taking strategies and explanations of how each section of the test is scored.

« on: April 28, 2017, 12:42:45 PM »
“What is a good GRE score?” Here’s the first thing you need to know: GRE score range from 130 to 170 per section. Combined GRE scores range from 260-340.

Another important fact to keep in mind when considering “good” GRE scores:

The average GRE score is approximately 304, or 151 in Verbal and around 153 in Quant.
However, even that info only tells us so much. The GRE score range for students admitted to different graduate schools, and even different programs at the same school, varies widely. All in all, several factors will affect what good GRE scores are for you.

Determining what a good score is for you will take some time and research. But if you can identify your target score early in your GRE prep, you’ll be more likely to hit that target since you can focus your study plan accordingly. It’s well worth it!

So with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the factors that make a good GRE score—and see how you can maximize your score in the process.
