নমনীয়, কাগজের মতো পাতলা ও কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তাসম্পন্ন যে ট্যাবলেট কম্পিউটারের অস্তিত্ব কেবল বৈজ্ঞানিক কল্পকাহিনিতেই সীমাবদ্ধ ছিল; প্রযুক্তি-বিশ্বে ইলেকট্রনিক পণ্য প্রস্তুতকর্তাদের মধ্যকার প্রতিযোগিতার কল্যাণে হয়তো শিগগিরই বাস্তবের দুনিয়ায় তার দেখা মিলতে পারে।
এমন ট্যাবলেট তৈরির পেছনে স্যামসাং, আমাজন, সনি, গুগলসহ অনেক প্রতিষ্ঠানই ছুটছে। এই ট্যাবলেট নাকি প্যান্টের পেছনে ভাঁজ করেও রাখা যাবে। এক খবরে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্স।
অ্যাপলের আইপ্যাড ট্যাবলেট বাজারে আসার পর থেকেই ট্যাবলেট কম্পিউটার তৈরিতে নাম লিখিয়েছে স্যামসাং থেকে শুরু করে গুগলসহ অনেক প্রতিষ্ঠান। এ তালিকায় সর্বশেষ যুক্ত হয়েছে মাইক্রোসফট। স্মার্টফোন ও ট্যাবলেট কম্পিউটারকে হালকা-পাতলা, দ্রুতগতির ও শক্তিশালী প্রসেসরযুক্ত করতে প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর মধ্যে শুরু হয়েছে অলিখিত প্রতিযোগিতা। প্রযুক্তি বিশ্লেষকেরা এই প্রতিযোগিতা আরও বেড়ে যাওয়ারই আভাস দিয়েছেন। তাঁদের অধিকাংশেরই ধারণা, হার্ডওয়্যারনির্মাতা ও সফটওয়্যার প্রকৌশলীরা মিলে নতুন প্রযুক্তির সমন্বয়ে আগামী কয়েক বছরের মধ্যেই নতুন স্মার্টফোন ও ট্যাবলেট বাজারে আনতে যাচ্ছেন।
ট্যাবলেট কম্পিউটার ও স্মার্টফোনের মধ্যে সমন্বয়, অর্গানিক লাইট-এমিটিং ডায়োড (ওএলইডি) প্রযুক্তির ডিসপ্লে তৈরিতে কাজ করছে মাইক্রোসফট, স্যামসাংয়ের মতো প্রযুক্তি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো। রাইস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষকেরা জানিয়েছেন, ওএলইডি ডিসপ্লে হালকা-পাতলা হলেও টেকসই হবে। এ ডিসপ্লেযুক্ত ট্যাবলেট কাগজের মতো ভাঁজ করে রাখা সম্ভব হবে।
এ প্রসঙ্গে রাইস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে মোবাইল পদ্ধতি-বিষয়ক গবেষক লিন জং জানিয়েছেন, ‘টাচস্ক্রিন প্রযুক্তির বাইরে এখন ভিন্ন কিছু ভাবার সময় এসেছে আমাদের। ট্যাবলেট কেন শুধু হাতেই ধরে রাখতে হবে, আর কেনই বা তা বয়ে বেড়াতে হবে আমাদের? আমরা পরিধেয় কম্পিউটার প্রযুক্তি নিয়ে ভাবতে পারি।’
ইতিমধ্যে গবেষকেরা পরিধেয় প্রযুক্তির গবেষণায়ও এগিয়ে গেছেন। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে গুগলের পরিধেয় প্রযুক্তি চশমা। অ্যাপল ও মাইক্রোসফটও এই প্রযুক্তি নিয়ে কাজ করছে। এ ছাড়া রয়েছে মাইক্রোসফটের থ্রিডি ক্যামেরা প্রযুক্তি ও স্যামসাংয়ের স্বচ্ছ থ্রিডি স্মার্টফোন-হাইব্রিড ট্যাবলেট। বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান ও গবেষকেরা স্বচ্ছ টাচস্ক্রিন তৈরিতে কাজ করছেন।

আইএইচএস আইসাপ্লাইয়ের ট্যাবলেট বিশ্লেষক রোডা আলেকজান্ডার জানিয়েছেন, ‘নমনীয় ও সহজে ভাঁজ করা সম্ভব এমন ডিসপ্লে প্রথমত স্মার্টফোনের ডিসপ্লে হিসেবে ব্যবহূত হবে। এরপর তা চলে আসবে ট্যাবলেটে। প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো ট্যাবলেটে এ ধরনের ডিসপ্লের নির্মাণের খরচ হিসাব করে পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে বাজারে ছাড়বে।’
কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তাসম্পন্ন ও নমনীয় ডিসপ্লে-বিষয়ক গবেষণার ক্ষেত্রে স্ট্যানফোর্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রসায়ন বিভাগের সঙ্গে স্যামসাং এবং রাইস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সঙ্গে কাজ করছে মাইক্রোসফট। প্রতিকূল পরিবেশ-সহনীয়, সহজে সাড়া দিতে পারে ও সৌরশক্তি ব্যবহারে সক্ষম ‘ইলেকট্রনিক স্কিন’ নামে এক ধরনের সেন্সর তৈরি করেছেন স্ট্যানফোর্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষক জেনান বাও। এ সেন্সরটি আলোর স্পর্শ শনাক্ত করতে পারে, যা টাচস্ক্রিনের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়।
গবেষক বাও জানিয়েছেন, বর্তমানে টাচস্ক্রিন প্রযুক্তিতে ব্যবহূত সিলিকন উপাদানের পরিবর্তে প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহারের পক্ষপাতী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো।

SixthSense is a wearable, gestural interface that augments our physical world with digital information, and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information.

SixthSense brings intangible, digital information into the tangible world, and allows us to interact with this information via natural hand gestures. SixthSense frees information from its confines, seamlessly integrating it with reality, thus making the entire world your computer. The SixthSense prototype comprises a pocket projector, mirror, and camera worn in a pendant-like mobile device. Both the projector and the camera are connected to a mobile computing device in the user’s pocket. The system projects information onto the surfaces and physical objects around us, making any surface into a digital interface; the camera recognizes and tracks both the user's hand gestures and physical objects using computer-vision-based techniques. SixthSense uses simple computer-vision techniques to process the video-stream data captured by the camera and follows the locations of colored markers on the user’s fingertips (which are used for visual tracking). In addition, the software interprets the data into gestures to use for interacting with the projected application interfaces.

The current SixthSense prototype supports several types of gesture-based interactions, demonstrating the usefulness, viability, and flexibility of the system. The current prototype system costs approximately $350 to build.

তথ্যপ্রযুক্তিতে দক্ষ জনশক্তি গড়ে তুলবে কোয়ান্টাম আইসিটি-কার্যক্রম। প্রথম পর্যায়ে এই লক্ষ্য বাস্তবায়নে কোয়ান্টামের বনশ্রী কার্যালয়ে অত্যাধুনিক প্রযুক্তি-পণ্যের সমন্বয়ে দুটি ল্যাব প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয়েছে। খবর বিজ্ঞপ্তির।
গত শুক্রবার তথ্যপ্রযুুক্তিবিদ অধ্যাপক জামিলুর রেজা প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে এ কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন করেন। বনশ্রী কার্যালয়ে কোয়ান্টাম ফাউন্ডেশনের মহাপরিচালক নাহার আল বোখারীর সভাপতিত্বে উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন বিশিষ্ট ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য এম লুৎফর রহমান। এতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন কোয়ান্টাম আইসিটি কার্যক্রমের সমন্বয়ক মো. মকবুল আহমেদ।
অধ্যাপক জামিলুর রেজা চৌধুরী বলেন, ‘দেশের আর্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তির বিকাশের বিকল্প নেই। তথ্যপ্রযুক্তিতে আমাদের সামনে রয়েছে বিপুল সম্ভাবনা।’
তিনি বলেন, এখন ট্রেনিং নিয়ে ঘরে বসেই এমনকি গ্রামের বাড়িতে বসেও অল্প দামের একটি কম্পিউটার কিনে ইউরোপ আমেরিকার কাজ করে আয় করা যায়। আগামী কয়েক বছরে আউটসোর্সিংয়ে বাংলাদেশএক নম্বরে চলে আসবে।

In order to access the grub menu on a virtual machine, you need to hold the shift key down for a while. You must let your virtual machine to capture your mouse before holding the shift key. Follow the steps to change your password:

1. Let your virtual Machine to capture your mouse.
2. Hold the shift key down to get the grub menu.
3. Select the recovery mode option.
4. Select drop to root shell prompt.
5. Now, change with # passwd [username] (You can also see the list of users using # nano /etc/passwd).

FFmpeg is a command-line program that can record, convert and stream digital audio and video in numerous formats. It is composed of a collection of free software / open source libraries. The name of the project comes from the MPEG video standards group, together with "FF" for "fast forward".
