Dear Researcher,

Today, Dr Mamum Habib, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Supply Chain Management (IJSCM) presented an in-depth analysis of how to start publishing in international journals and keep on improving.

He has given permission to upload his powerpoint and the two papers discussed in the lecture. Alhamdulillah, it was a very useful presentation for all people wishing to publish.

The complete powerpoint and papers discussed are attached with the replies to this post.

The idea behind the following posts is that we will all discuss each of the slides in detail.

HRDI is available to help support your writing.

Allah: My belief / Are all religions the same - tafseer of the Qur'an
« on: October 03, 2010, 07:56:06 AM »
Dear All,

Establishing belief is not easy. It requires a lot of thinking and contemplation. As one starts thinking, questions pop into the mind, e.g.

If there is one Creator, shouldn't there be ONE religion? The answer to this question is that each one of us should study our own religion in depth. Muslims should study the Qur'an in depth, Christians should study the Bible in depth, Hindus should study their own books in depth, etc.

It is in the depth that one will find commonalities...each one of us has been given life, individuality, skills, opportunities and free-will. How and why? Is this all automatic or is there someone we should thank?

The article in the link below may help answer some questions.

Dear Students,

In Bangladesh, what kind of use do we make of technology? One of the most powerful uses of technology is for storing data for use. In Bangladesh, what data do we store? Do we store data on our own activities?

Hajj / Hajj Matters
« on: October 28, 2009, 02:51:38 PM »
Dear All,

Hajj season is here. Like every year people all over the globe are preparing for a very important event in their life. Some have already arrived in Saudi Arabia.

The 'Hajj Matters' topic has been opened in the forum to discuss and answer queries that people may have on pilgrimage. Questions like:

Why Hajj?
When is Hajj appropriate?
Will the Creator accept my Hajj?
What is appropriate preparation for Hajj?

To answer these questions this forum topic will present Verses 2.196 – 2.209, i.e. Verses 196 to 209 of Chapter 2 or Sura Baquarah of the Qur'an. Each verse will be elaborated using other verses from the Qur'an. InshaAllah, self-interpretation would be avoided as much as possible using this method of tafsir.

For the next two weeks, the tafsir will be posted in chunks of about 1000 words each. Questions, comments, reviews are welcome. The idea is to understand the Creator's Manual (The Al-Qur'an) with a sincere approach, i.e. we collectively want to understand what has been Revealed to mankind.

If you are unable to post in the forum directly, you may send me a mail at ymislam@daffodilvarsity.edu.bd.

May Allah Guide all of us.

Ramadan and Fasting / A few Verses each day
« on: August 23, 2009, 05:33:00 PM »
Dear Readers,

Do you ever ask yourselves questions like:

* Who am I?
* What am I doing on earth?
* Does my life have any purpose?
* What will happen after I die?
* etc.

Ramadhan is the month of reflection for the Muslim. Our Book for reflection was revealed in this month. The first word, "Iqra", meaning 'Read', 'Gather Knowledge', 'Read & Reflect' was revealed during this month. The complete book, the Qur'an answers any questions that we may have of our Creator, Allah.

To get us started on reading and reflecting, I will InshaAllah post one brief article each day of Ramadhan. If you are interested, pls read. You can also post any question that you like.

The articles collectively form a tafsir of the Qur'an. Each Verse is explained using other verses from the Qur'an. Self-tafsir is avoided as much as possible.

May Allah guide each of us.
