Windows 8 Consumer Preview is  available, Microsoft wanted to clarify the minimum requirements of your equipment.

Specificities are equivalent to those required for Windows 7, you can run with 1 GB of RAM and a 1GHz processor, here are the full requirements of Microsoft.

•   Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster.
•   RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit).
•   Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit).
•   Graphics card: DirectX 9 graphics device Microsoft or higher.

Most applications, the resolution of your screen should be at least 1024 * 768 1366 * 76.
Other features all recent Windows 8 require requirements that are not currently available on most modern PCs.

Secure boot, asks for new UEFI BIOS, not available on the PC at the moment, but some can already propose, if your PC did not, it ‘s always possible to activate it via the BIOS.

The Bitlocker is not necessary, but will more evenly if your PC is equipped with a platform module (TPM), Bitlocker requires one USB flash drive.

Hyper-V requires a 64-bit system with a second level address translation (SLAT) and an additional 2GB of RAM, it is possible to use (SLAT) via BIOS settings.

Some games and programs require graphics capabilities compatible with DirectX 10 or higher (including products available on the Windows Store and Consumer Preview).
