BD police has asked Facebook to open facebook account with national ID for the Bangladeshi Citizen. It has been proposed to minimize the cyber crime. Police has also requested Facebook to inform law authority if they see any post regarding Eve teasing/ torturing and Blasphemy.

We have successfully completed preparing the new syllabus for the Dept. of Software Engineering. It has been submitted to DIU and will finally be submitted to UGC for Approval. We hope to get approval from UGC as soon as possible.

Few more works still to be done in the mean time. A lot of new courses have been introduced, therefore new course curriculum has to be prepared for new course with our previous Course Curriculum Format.

I would like to thank all of our colleagues for their continuous support. Special thanks to Iftekhar Alam sir and K. M. Imtiaz-Ud-Din Sir. They worked extremely hard preparing this syllabus.

A news has been published in the Daily Prothom Alo about the transformation of three electronics devices (smart phone, computer and TV). Among them i was wondered to see the transformation of computers. However, the important thing is, all the devices have turned into computers. TV and Smartphones are nothing but computers. They evolved this way as because computer evolved this way.

A six wheeler robot made by Starship Technology starts to deliver food to customers who have ordered food online from restaurant. It can avoid pedistrians and maintain the traffic signals while running on road.

external peer review for the SA report of the IQAC for the department of software engineering has been completed.
from the review we have found the following fields to be considered (but not limited to) for the future development of the department as far as the quality is concerned.

Accreditation from any recognized body like IEB.

Business humanities oriented courses in the syllabus

English proficiency courses for students

Comprehensive exam before completing graduation in the final year

Graduate profile with all the unique outcomes from all the courses outcome

Student's intake filtering with exam and cgpa

Physical facilities has to be enriched with emergency exit for each building emergency notice for fire extinguisher usage

Playground and extra curricular activities more to have in the city campus

Professional psychological support of DIU

Non academic stuff training to be increased

Student engagement community and industry funding is required

PhD faculty members

Faculty members should get fund for PhD

Autonomy of position holders should increased

Project symposium for final year students

three days long external peer review of SA survey report for software engineering department is going on. peer reviewer are preparing the reports on the basis of the meetings with the respective authorities and personals of the department and the university.

It has been started at 25th July and will end at 27th July. at the end of this term peer reviewers will submit their review reports.

Course curriculum workshop and final course outline was prepared in the workshop held in the 17th July, 2016 at the conference room of DT 4 level 6. All the full time faculties have participated in the workshop and every one was given one or two courses to submit the final course outline according to the structure designed previously.

Submission deadline was 28th July, 2016.

on June 20th, 2016 Department of Software Engineering SA committee have organized a workshop on Curriculum development where all the full time faculty members attended.

All the faculty members were provided with a file that contains a sample course outline and a draft copy of their course's outline what they have already submitted previously. workshop was on the discussion of the sample course outline and correction of the draft course outline and make a final version.

in the workshop it has been decided that final course outline of all the courses will be submitted to me (Kaushik Sarker) on or before June 28, 2016 and a Course outline module for Accreditation will be prepared before the Eid vacation on July 2016.

Following are the lists of internal workshops so far held for accreditation of SWE.

1. Workshop 1: Room 604AB, Team Building for SA, IQAC with all the faculties.
2. Workshop 2: Permanent campus, Creation of 3 teams for accreditation with the presence of all the faculty members of SWE and Honarable VC sir.
3. Workshop 3: Conference room in VC office, Teamwise preparation of documents with the presence of selected faculties from 3 prebuilt teams.
4. Workshop 4: Room 604AB, preparation of documents by the three teams and unify them to a particular structure/ format for course outline with the presence of allthe faculty members.
5. Workshop 5: Permanent Campus, discussion on a prepared structure/ format of course outline for a particular subject as example with all the faculty members of SWE.
6. Workshop 6: Room 504AB, Create a course wise faculty list and provide the format to prepare his/ her course's outline and submit with all the faculty members of SWE.
