Daffodil International University Cultural Club (DIUCC) is going to host the most colorful event of the year, named as "ART FELICITY". This is going to be the platform for the young talents of the university to showcase them and SPOT THEMSELVES IN THE UPCOMING FOUNDATION DAY CULTURAL EVENT!!

It is going to be a 4 day event. The participants of all three campuses will go through a PRELIMINARY ROUND. The selective participants from all three campuses will compete each other under a single shade on the GRAND FINALE! The date of which is on 25th October, 2018!

Rotaract club / Rotaract Club of DIU organizes Seminar on ‘Autism:Understand, Be Aware’

Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University based on the slogan “Being a human, contribute to Humanity” organized a seminar on ‘Autism : Understand, Be Aware’ at Daffodil International University on 7 October, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Nahim Razzaq, MP, Convener of Young Bangla and Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Youth and Sports was present at the seminar as the chief guest while Professor Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul-Haque Majumdar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the special guest. Presided over by Rtr. Hasan Shahriar Shaown, President of Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University, a keynote paper was presented by Mr. Arifur Rahman Ripon, Chairman, Nutrition and Autism Research Center. The seminar was also addressed by Mr. Dara Abdus Sattar, Convener of Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University. The whole program was conducted by Rtr. Humaun Kabir Polash, Chartered President of Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University.
Addressing as chief guest Mr. Nahim Razzaq MP, said that autism should not be looked into different view. It’s not like something unusual. Some very famous people of the world were autistic. For example he told some name like scientist Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, Mozart, Isaac Newton and so other.This people were became famous because of their society, government and family. All this institute were stayed behind them. So, if we stand behind our autistic child, they will become famous one day, obviously. he added.
Mr. Nahim Razzaq also said that awareness of autism is gradually increasing in Bangladesh. For the past nine years, government has taken lots of initiatives for autism. In this regard he remarked the outstanding contribution of Daughter of Prime Minister Ms. Saima Wazed Putul who has played a vital role to create awareness on autism in Bangladesh.
While addressing as special guest Professor Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul-Haque Majumdar said that 10 percent people of the total population of the world is affected with autism. This special kinds of people are found everywhere around the world. So, it’s not a matter of wisdom to see them in a vindictive point of view. If the autistics children are grown up with proper care, they can live a normal life. He argued all to come forward and stand behind the autistic people and be aware.
At the end of the seminar, Best Rotaractor Award was given to four member of Rotaract Club of Daffodil International University. Beside this autistic child were present dance, song and drama in the program.

To mark the second death anniversary of Syed Shamsul Haq, a versatile writer of Bangladesh, a remembering program titled ‘Respect and Remembrance of Syed Haq’ held at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University on 30 September 2018. Organized by Daffodil Literature Club.The program was addressed by Mr. Syed Abul Moksud, renowned columnist and researcher as the chief guest. Mr. Ditiyo Syed Haq was present at the program as special guest. Presided over by Mr. Mahbub Pervez, Convener of Daffodil Literature Club and Head, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, the program was also addressed by Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Students Affaires, Dr. Binoy Barman, Associate Professor, Department of English, Habibullah Pappu, one of the founder of Daffodil Literature Club and Md. Rokunuzzaman Rokon, founder President of Daffodil Literature Club. The program was conducted by Khondokar Mahir, General Secretary of Daffodil Literature Club and Syeda Nourin Ahmed.

All Stars Daffodil / All Stars Daffodil performed in the KUET Dance Fest 2018

The after-taste of KUET project still reminds the marvelousness of the elegant Dance festival of KUET. "All Stars Daffodil" has always been effortlessly successful when it comes to go beyond the horizon. The stars have only the limit to the skyline. "KUET Dance Festival" on 28th September 2018 is the name of an additional glory to add in the success book of "All Stars Daffodil“. All Stars Daffodil was invited to partake in "KUET Inter University Dance festival" as a guest University association along with 9 other guest University associations.
A team consisting of 13 members of this club attended the program representing Daffodil International University. The team performed an act titled "RUDRANI" which brought women empowerment into the light through dance. Maraz Ahmed, Jemima Naz-Um Inasha, Mehdad Tokee Srijon, Eleas Nobi Faisal, Israt Talukdar Gronthy performed in the lead leaving the audience impressed and astonished. The act "RUDRANI" was directed by Jemima Naz-Um Inasha & Eleas Nobi Faisal. Each performer received an official participation certificate as an honor and a t-shirt as an admiration. The KUET project was too pleasant to explain.
The whole program was impressively well-manufactured by the KUET ians. The hospitality of KUET was beyond thanks giving. We are keenly looking forward to collaborate with KUET moreover. Long live KUET, long live drama, long live "All Stars Daffodil".

Etiquette & Personal Behavior / ভাবিয়া সেন্ড চাপিও চাপিয়া ভাবিও না

ইউটিউবে একবার ভিডিও বিজ্ঞাপন দেখেছিলাম। ভূমিষ্ঠ হয়েই শিশু নার্সের পকেট থেকে মুঠোফোন তুলে নেয়। গুগল ঘেঁটে, নির্দেশিকা দেখে, নিজেই নিজের আমবিলিক্যাল কর্ড কেটে ফেলে। এরপর সেলফি তোলে। কম্পিউটার চালায়। আবার জিপিএএস দেখে দেখে পথ চিনে নিয়ে রাস্তায় বেরিয়ে আসে। আর তা দেখে মূর্ছা যান ডাক্তার।
প্রতীকী অর্থে চিন্তা করলে এই ভিডিওতে খুব অবাক হওয়ার কিছু নেই। এখন শিশুরা আশৈশব বাবা-মায়ের মুঠোফোনের ব্যবহার দেখে অভ্যস্ত। হয়তো সে থেকেই খুব অল্প বয়সে তারা প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার শিখে নেয়। নতুন প্রযুক্তির সঙ্গে তৈরি হয় নতুন একটা জগৎ। তবে সে জগতেরও যে কিছু শিষ্টাচার থাকে বা থাকতে পারে, তা অনেক অভিভাবকই ভুলে যান। অবশ্য বুড়ো-বড়রাও যে খুব সচেতন, তা-ও না।
ডিজিটাল ফুটপ্রিন্ট বিষয়টা মোটামুটি সবারই জানা আছে। যে জিনিস একবার হাতের মুঠো (পড়ুন টেক্সট বক্স) থেকে বেরিয়ে গেছে, তা আর ফিরিয়ে নেওয়ার সুযোগ নেই। আর তাই সেন্ড বোতাম চাপার আগে বারবার দেখুন, বারবার ভাবুন আর মনে রাখুন নিচের বিষয়গুলো—
১. এসএমএস পাঠানোর আগে সময় দেখে নিন। কাজের এসএমএস কাজের সময়ের মধ্যে রাখলেই ভালো। আর ব্যক্তিগত সম্পর্কের ক্ষেত্রে সময়ে বুঝে এসএমএস পাঠান। তবে ঘুমের সময় কাউকেই এসএমএস করা উচিত না।
২. প্রাপ্তিস্বীকার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এসএমএস কিংবা ই-মেইলের উত্তর দিতে ভুলবেন না। আর কিছু না হোক, শুধু ‘ধন্যবাদ’ হলেও লিখে পাঠান।
৩. এসএমএস সব সময় সংক্ষিপ্ত ও সুনির্দিষ্ট হওয়া উচিত। ই-মেইলও তা-ই।
৪. প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক যোগাযোগের শুরুটা এসএমএসের মাধ্যমে হওয়া উচিত না। আগে থেকে চেনেন, ফোনে কথা কিংবা ই-মেইলে যোগাযোগ হয়েছে, এমন কাউকে এসএমএস করতে পারেন।
৫. কোথাও মুঠোফোন চার্জ হতে দেখলে এক টানে খুলে ফেলে নিজের মুঠোফোন চার্জে দেওয়া ঠিক না। খুব প্রয়োজন হলে যার মুঠোফোনে চার্জ হচ্ছিল তাঁকে ভদ্রভাবে জিজ্ঞেস করুন।
৬. কর্মক্ষেত্রে বসে শুধু ভালো লাগছে বলে ওয়েব ব্রাউজ করা মোটেই যুক্তিসংগত না। সেটা বাসায় করতে পারেন।
৭. ২০১৫ সালে অক্সফোর্ড ইউনিভার্সিটির বর্ষসেরা শব্দ আদতে কোনো শব্দ ছিল না। সেটা ছিল চেহারায় আনন্দের অশ্রুর ইমোজি। তবে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক যোগাযোগে ইমোজির ব্যবহার করার আগে ভেবে দেখুন।
৮. মিটিংয়ে ফোন বন্ধ (নিদেনপক্ষে সাইলেন্ট মোডে) রাখুন। আর জরুরি ফোন কলের আশা করলে তা জানিয়ে দিন এবং কথা বলার সময় অন্যরা বিরক্ত হবেন না, এমন কোথাও গিয়ে কথা বলুন।
৯. সহকর্মী তার কম্পিউটার বা মুঠোফোনে কী করছে, তা দেখার জন্য উঁকিঝুঁকি মোটেই কাম্য না। যদিও কর্মক্ষেত্রে কাজের বাইরে অন্য কাজ সাধারণত কেউ করে না, তবু নাক না গলানোই উচিত।
১০. যেকোনো যোগাযোগে কখনোই রুক্ষ মেজাজে কথোপকথন চালানো উচিত না। এতে আপনার ভাবমূর্তি এবং সম্পর্ক, দুটোই নষ্ট হতে পারে।
১১. ইংরেজিতে যেকোনো লিখিত যোগাযোগে সব বড় হাতের কিংবা সব ছোট হাতের অক্ষর ব্যবহার করা ঠিক না।
১২. সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে কোনো কিছু পোস্ট করার আগে অডিয়েন্স, প্রাইভেসি সেটিংস, লেখার ক্ষেত্রে বানান ও ভাষা ভালো করে খতিয়ে দেখুন।
১৩. কাজের ই-মেইল ঠিকানায় ব্যক্তিগত যোগাযোগ না করাই ভালো।

মেশিন রিডেবল পাসপোর্টের (এমআরপি) যুগ শেষ হতে চলেছে। এবার আসছে ই-পাসপোর্ট। এ বছরের জুলাই মাসেই চালু হতে যাচ্ছে এই পাসপোর্ট। এরইমধ্যে জার্মানির একটি কোম্পানির সঙ্গে সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। অত্যাধুনিক প্রযুক্তির এ পাসপোর্টের একটি ‘চিপ’ সহজ করে দেবে বিশ্ব ভ্রমণ।
জানা যায়, বিশ্বের ১১৮টি দেশে ইলেকট্রনিক পাসপোর্ট চালু রয়েছে। এবার যুক্ত হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ। নিরাপত্তা চিহ্ন হিসেবে এতে থাকবে চোখের মণির ছবি ও আঙুলের ছাপ। এর পাতায় থাকা চিপে সংরক্ষিত থাকবে পাসপোর্টধারীর সব তথ্য।
২০১৬ সালে এমআরপির পাশাপাশি ই-পাসপোর্ট চালুর সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় সরকার। একই সময় পাসপোর্টের মেয়াদ বাড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়। সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী যে দিন থেকে ই-পাসপোর্ট চালু হবে ওই দিন থেকে এমআরপি পাসপোর্ট রিনিউ করতে গেলে ই-পাসপোর্ট করতে হবে।
ইতোমধ্যে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ই–পাসপোর্টের নমুনা কপি অনুমোদন দিয়েছেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী ই-পাসপোর্টের কার্যক্রম দ্রুত এগিয়ে চলছে। জার্মানির প্রযুক্তি নিয়ে জিটু-জি'র মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশে ই–পাসপোর্ট করা হবে। এর জন্য উড়োজাহাজ, স্থল ও নৌ-বন্দরে ই-গেট স্থাপন করা হবে। ইমিগ্রেশন চেকপোস্ট পেরিয়ে যাওয়া ই-পাসপোর্টধারী ব্যক্তি লাইনে না দাঁড়িয়েই স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে ইমিগ্রেশন শেষ করতে পারবেন।

জানা যায়, বিশ্বের ১১৮টি দেশে ইলেকট্রনিক পাসপোর্ট চালু রয়েছে। এবার যুক্ত হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ। নিরাপত্তা চিহ্ন হিসেবে এতে থাকবে চোখের মণির ছবি ও আঙুলের ছাপ। এর পাতায় থাকা চিপে সংরক্ষিত থাকবে পাসপোর্টধারীর সব তথ্য।
