Journal reviews focus on plagiarism and ethics. They use a software to check how much "copy" has been done.....only 20% or less is acceptable and properly referenced. It is considered a criminal offence to copy from others without giving references...and also there is a limit to how much can be copied....if a model is used, permission must be taken and acknowledged.

The software used by Dr Mamun Habib is called Turn-it-in software....from Turn Him In...i.e. put him in jail...(I guess)

An image of a Turnitin report is attached below:

17
Step 2:

Start publishing in Journal Papers...start with journals that lower in ranking in the ISI...then move up...

The contents of Slide 3 are given below:

•   Research Publications

•   Journal Paper: Call for Papers (CFP), ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) is mandatory, ISSN (Online), ISSN (Print), duration about 8 months (depends on number of issues/year)
   - Initial paper submission through email/online

   - Reviewers will review papers

   - Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Board Member would take final decision [At least 10 international papers and 20 papers to become Editorial Board Member and Editor-in-Chief respectively]

   - Author would modify based on reviewer comments

   - Final Manuscript submission through online/email.

[Especially, Editor-in-Chief will emphasis on Ethics in Research (Plagiarism)] - Turnitin Software

Step 1:

Start presenting at conferences. Choose an international conference. The idea is to get whatever you have written reviewed by the Session Chair and by the audience. Take all comments and reviews as opportunities for learning and improvement. So listen to all comments, do not argue, read up more...find out what they mean...dig deeper into the subject....most important.....START PUBLISHING in international conferences....choose one that will give some review...

Slide 2 is given below:

•   Research Publications

•   Conference Paper: Call for Papers (CFP), ISBN (International Standard Book Number) isn’t mandatory for Conference Proceedings (CD/Book format), duration about 6 months.

   - Abstract/Initial paper submission through email/online

   - Reviewers will review the papers [At least 5 international
papers to be required to become Reviewer]

   - Technical Committee Member [Reviewers will be the members of Technical Committee]

   - Author would modify based on reviewer comments

   - Final Manuscript submission through online/email.

Dr Mamun Habib offered insights into the types of international publications and suggested a road map of how to step-by-step get into the most prestigious journals of the world.

There are also opportunities to do a PhD under him at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), a prestigious university set up to create managers for taking the country forward.

With your interest, you may first contact Prof Yousuf M Islam at ymislam@daffodilvarsity.edu.bd or you may also Dr Habib. His contact details from the first slide are given below:

Dear Researcher,

Today, Dr Mamum Habib, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Supply Chain Management (IJSCM) presented an in-depth analysis of how to start publishing in international journals and keep on improving.

He has given permission to upload his powerpoint and the two papers discussed in the lecture. Alhamdulillah, it was a very useful presentation for all people wishing to publish.

The complete powerpoint and papers discussed are attached with the replies to this post.

The idea behind the following posts is that we will all discuss each of the slides in detail.

HRDI is available to help support your writing.

HRDI / Re: Training for University Teachers
« on: June 10, 2013, 02:34:59 PM »
Dear Golam Rashed and Shibli Sharier,

Ability to teach requires a minimum of THREE things.

1. Subject knowledge.
2. Understand which parts of concepts students need to understand well and which parts students have problems when applying the subject concept.
3. An understanding of how the brain works.

Why is 3. necessary?

To answer this question, lets look at how we normally tackle or design other things in life. For example, if we design a "hand-glove", do we need to know how many fingers a hand has and the position of each finger? If before designing the hand-glove we do not consider the shape of the hand, what may happen? So when designing a lesson for students, should it be important to consider how the student's brain works?

So it doesn't matter how old a teacher is, if the teacher has not practically taken into consideration the above three aspects, then the teacher should attend a training program that helps him/her consider the above things while designing the lesson.

Best regards.

Dear Forum Member,

If we are created purposefully, should we thank the Creator for giving us life and giving us so many things to enjoy?

The article in the link below may help us think:
