##### Common Forum / Online Algebra Solution Engine ( OASE )
« on: May 26, 2012, 02:35:02 PM »

to access Online Algebra Solution Engine ( OASE ) developed by Mohammad Salah Uddin, Lecturer in Mathematics, FSIT. A short note on OASE is copied below.

Online Algebra Solution Engine

To accumulate a reasonable foundation of mathematics, achieving a sound knowledge of linear algebra is crucial for all students from both natural sciences and engineering fields. In this project, we developed a web application named Online Algebra Solution Engine (OASE) to help algebra students and researchers. At present, OASE can be used to solve problem related to basic matrix operations viz. finding rank of matrix (by row reduction), calculating determinant (by definition & by row reduction), finding inverse matrix (by cofactor method & by row reduction) and solving system of linear equations (by using Cramer’s Rule, by matrix inverse method & by row reduction). The OASE is designed in such a way that it simply accepts the aforementioned problems with rational inputs and generates solutions including almost all intermediate steps as is given usually in the examples in textbooks. Actually, OASE can be considered as a linear algebra notebook consisting of infinite number of solved problems.

Lecturer in Mathematics, FSIT

##### Ranking / DIU Honored : UN Declaration on commit
« on: April 19, 2012, 10:54:13 AM »
Daffodil International University is the first university in Bangladesh, that signed the UN Declaration on commitment to the development of sustainable practices for Higher Education Institutions.

On the occasion of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012, the leaders of the international academic community are called upon to commit to the development of sustainable practices for Higher Education Institutions. They are invited to sign on to the Declaration below. With the 1992 Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the international community committed to making every effort to ensure sustainable development for the benefit of present and future generations. The aim of the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio+20, is to secure renewed political commitment for sustainable development, assess the progress to date and the remaining gaps in the implementation of the outcomes of the major summits on sustainable development, and address new and emerging challenges. Since Higher Education Institutions educate and train decision makers, they play a key role in building more sustainable societies and creating new paradigms. As educational institutions, they have the mission to promote development through both research and teaching, disseminating new knowledge and insight to their students and building their capabilities. Given the objectives of Rio+20, Higher Education Institutions have a special responsibility to provide leadership on education for sustainable development. Education for sustainable development aims at enabling everyone to acquire the values, competencies, skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to building a more sustainable society. This implies revising teaching content to respond to global and local challenges. It should also promote teaching methods that enable students to acquire skills such as interdisciplinary thinking, integrated planning, understanding complexity, cooperating with others in decision-making processes, and participating in local, national and global processes towards sustainable development.

« on: April 12, 2012, 11:34:00 AM »
To improve our ranking we have some suggestion for every body belongs to DIU:

Please click any DIU link via out sides internet connections like Qubee, B Lion or others Modems(GP/ROBI/Airtel etc.)
Because when we browse from DIU, it is connected only one IP from DOL and it is count one click from a single Real IP.

Also we can browse Facebook, Twitter, Hi5 etc. and daffodilvarsity.edu.bd from outside diu net. Its make more effective.

Thanks.

##### Heritage/Culture / 3 Days Film Festival on at Daffodil Int'l University Auditorium
« on: April 11, 2012, 02:52:32 PM »
Respected All,

Its my pleasure to inform you that Daffodil Bondhushava is going to screen a three-day long film festival on 11th, 12th and 15th April 2012 in our university auditorium. The festival will be arranged with a view to collecting fund to save the life of the president of Barishal Bondhushava who has been suffering from serious liver cirrhosis for two months. An amount of Tk.55 lac is needed for his treatment which is merely impossible for him or his family to manage. Relating to that issue, two articles have been published in the daily Prothom-Alo. It is to be mentioned that a number of members from several branches of Bondhushava are working hard to raise fund to help our sick friend. Our activities are highly encouraged by our university and the Prothom-Alo. The daily Prothom Alo will provide all the possible supports to help us reach that noble goal.

We hope that you will understand the gravity of that cause and take necessary initiative to make the aforesaid film festival successful by watching the movies yourself as well as encouraging your friends and dear ones and donating some amount of money you seem fit to save a young and promising life.

Tickets are available in the Career Development Center (CDC), Prince Plaza and the temporary Ticket Booths in various places of DIU. You may also purchase tickets before the show in front of DIU Auditorium. Members of Daffodil Bondhushava will also be roaming all over the campus.

##### IT Forum / Window Washer 6.5 : A Greate tools for wash your PC and make free space in HDD
« on: September 17, 2011, 11:30:07 AM »

Window Washer is a security and privacy tool for Windows. It automatically cleans all of the configurations that are generated during daily computer use.

While you browse the internet, navigation histories (with the addresses visited), cookies (with information that is often private to the user), and other configurations are stored. These files are quite useful to many people, however they severely compromise the privacy of the user. Window Washer takes care of their elimination automatically.

Window Washer puts several maintenance tools at the disposal of the user, and allows you to free up disk space by eliminating temporary files, and other documents that aren’t really necessary.

Window Washer is a program that can be configured. Some cookies compromise privacy, but others are very useful because they make browsing much faster. Therefore, this program offers the possibility of eliminating some cookies, while saving others. All of this can be done from a simple and intuitive interface.

##### You need to know / Relief from a Very Serious Burns. Very easy but very important to know.
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:25:11 AM »
Check it out.no harm in trying.

This info saved a dear friend's younger daughter from very serious burns;

Story BURNS :
A young man sprinkling his lawn and bushes with pesticides wanted to check the contents of the barrel to see how much pesticide remained in it.  He raised the cover and lit his lighter; the vapors inflamed and engulfed him.  He jumped from his truck, screaming.  His neighbor came out of her house with a dozen eggs, yelling: "bring me some eggs!"  She broke them, separating the whites from the yolks.  The neighbor woman helped her to apply the whites on the young man's face.  When the ambulance arrived and when the EMTs saw the young man, they asked who had done this.  Everyone pointed to the lady in charge.  They congratulated her and said: "You have saved his face."  By the end of the summer, the young man brought the lady a bouquet of roses to thank her.  His face was like a baby's skin.< /DIV>

Healing Miracle for burns:
Keep in mind this treatment of burns which is included in teaching beginner fireman this method.  First aid consists to spraying cold water on the affected area until the heat is reduced and stops burning the layers of skin.  Then, spread egg whites on the affected are.
One woman burned a large part of her hand with boiling water.  In spite of the pain, she ran cold faucet water on her hand, separated 2 egg white from the yolks, beat them slightly and dipped her hand in the solution.  The whites then dried and formed a protective layer.
She later learned that the egg white is a natural collagen and continued during at least one hour to apply layer upon layer of beaten egg white.  By afternoon she no longer felt any pain and the next day there was hardly a trace of the burn.  10 days later, no trace was left at all and her skin had regained its normal color.  The burned area was totally regenerated thanks to the collagen in the egg whites, a placenta full of vitamins.
Thanks.
