Software Engineering / Architecture and types of DSS
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:23:26 PM »
Some of we may have confusion related to DSS.

This attached chapter presents a generic architecture that  provides  terminology  for  discussing  decision  support  systems  and  furnishes  a  unifying framework  for  guiding  explorations  of  the multitude of issues related to designing, using,  and evaluating these systems. The architecture  is  comprised  of  four  main subsystems :  language  system,  presentation  system,  knowledge  system,  and  problem-processing  system.  By  varying  the  makeup  of  these  four  elements,  different  types  of  decision  support systems  are  produced.  Several  of  the  most prominent types of decision support systems are described from an architectural viewpoint.

Please go through the attached link for detail.

Good to know and I think we may also take initiatives to develop other similar systems.

9
Can we develop a system for research students where we will brief them required updates??

10
Good to learn from the failure!!

"The frequently observed positive impact of adopting risk management strategies on projects’ overall outcome has led many software development organizations to appreciate its significant role in the pursuit of cost reduction, schedule overruns decrease and , generally , improved performance. In line with this issue , this study investigates a wide range of relevant literature , proposes a new conceptual framework for ma naging risk in software development projects , intro- duces new conceptual factors, brings out their interrelation , and suggests new prospects and managerial implications for both practitioners and academics. The conceptual framework has two basic axes. "
