Under this section we can discuss about very common mistakes we do in our daily life but which we should not.

This has been under the discussion for a long time. Important post. May Allah save us all from taking haram food. Thank you.

This is really confusing and they are probably doing it for a reason or something is working behind that. Otherwise, after all these years this research result came forward? Fishy. In the context of Bangladesh we the common people are just a subject of experiment. We should raise our voices against these otherwise the ultimate sufferer would be us.

Important post. There are many more. I was thinking of starting a series of common sense that will include more common things that we should not do but we do very casually.

James Christopher Harrison (born 27 December 1936), OAM, also known as the Man with the golden arm, is a blood plasma donor from Australia whose unusual plasma composition has been used to make a treatment for Rhesus disease. He has made over 1000 donations throughout his lifetime, and these donations are estimated to have saved over 2.4 million unborn babies from the condition. As of 11 May 2018, Harrison had donated 1173 times. As Australia has a policy prohibiting blood donations from individuals past age 81, he made his final donation on 11 May 2018.

James Harrison was born on 27 December 1936. At the age of 14, he underwent major chest surgery, requiring 13 litres (2.9 imp gal; 3.4 US gal) of blood. After surgery, he was in the hospital for three months. Realizing the blood had saved his life, he made a pledge to start donating blood as soon as he turned 18, the then-required age.

Harrison started donating in 1954 and after the first few donations it was discovered that his blood contained unusually strong and persistent antibodies against the D Rh group antigen. The discovery of these antibodies led to the development of immune globulin based products to prevent hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). These products, which contain a high level of anti-D antibodies are given to Rh(D) negative mothers of unknown or Rh(D) positive babies during and after pregnancy to prevent the creation of antibodies to the blood of a Rh(D) positive child. This antigen sensitization and subsequent incompatibility phenomenon causes Rhesus disease, the most common form of HDN.

Through the donations of his plasma, Harrison has helped prevent thousands of children from dying of HDN. This uniqueness was considered so important, that his life was insured for one million dollars after this discovery and the following research based on his donations created the commercial Anti-D immune globulin commonly known as RhoGAM.

His donations were estimated to have helped save over 2.4 million babies, with pregnant women, including his own daughter Tracey, being treated with his antibodies.

As blood plasma, in contrast to blood, can be donated as often as once every 2 weeks, he was able to reach his 1000th donation in May 2011. This results in an average of one donation every three weeks during 57 years. Commenting on his record, he said:

I could say it's the only record that I hope is broken, because if they do, they have donated a thousand donations.

In 2007, Harrison was critical of plans to open up Australia's plasma donation to foreign corporations. He believes that opening up the trade will discourage volunteers from donations. This opening of trade stemmed from a review of the country's free trade agreement with the United States.

Harrison was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) on 7 June 1999. He was nominated for Australian of the Year, though he did not win. In 2011, he was nominated in the New South Wales Local Hero division of the Australian of the Year awards.

বিগত ০৬ বছরে এই চিত্র খুব একটা উন্নত হয়নি বরং হয়েছে অবনতি। এখনো মূল্য স্ফিতী চরমে এবং বিশেষত গ্যাস, বিদ্যুত এবং জ্বালানীর দফায় দফায় দাম বাড়ানোটা সাধারন জনগনের নাভিশ্বাস উঠিয়ে দিচ্ছে। ব্যাপারটা খুবই পীড়াদায়ক। তার উপর গ্যাসের নিরবিচ্ছিন্ন সরবরাহ এখনো নিশ্চিত করা যায়নি। এসবের সমাধান আদৌ হবে কিনা জানা নেই। সবশেষে ভুক্তভোগী ওই সাধারন আম জনতাই।

Many of us have problems in speaking fluent English, even reading. Even though we know the words we stumble while reading. There are few simple tips that you can practice at home, alone to overcome this problem.

1. Reading English Newspaper Loudly: Reading is a very good habit undoubtedly. Reading English regularly will surely enhance the vocabulary as well the fluent utterance of different english words. But the trick is, if you read it loudly your facials muscles will move freely and your utterance will be clearer. Take a newspaper, start reading loudly (at first people around you may look at you and think you have gone mad, well ignore them if possible include them in your practice. It will help you to improve your communication skill), each and every word separately, slowly. If you stuck at some word, pronounce it several times then move on. Do this practice regularly. Will surely help you.

2. Watching English News/Movies/Documentaries:  Try to watch as much as english news channels, documentaries, movies, talk shows etc. This will improve your listening skill and once your listening skill is improved your pronunciation skill style will automatically improve. In some cases, you can use headphone to listen with more concentration. The more we listen, the more we deliver.

3. Think English: Think English? Whats that? Well, our mind always works, may be it rests when we sleep. So what do our minds do? They constantly think of something all the time. May be they are planning right now for the next few hours, so we are thinking in our native language, like "ok, ami ektu por office theke ber hobo, kichu snacks kinte hobe, then to basha by bus". Well just try to do this part in English. So it should be like "Ok, i am gonna get out of the office very soon, gotta buy some snack then head back to home by bus". That's it. When our mind keeps thinking like this our English eventually gets better.

4. Talking to yourself in front of a Mirror This is a widely practiced trick among so many people. Stand in front of a mirror and tell a story to yourself, tell what you are going to do the whole day or what you have done through out the day. May be you can act a little or try different accents. That will be interesting. This will improve your communication skill as well as speaking skill.

These techniques are practiced by many. I have always practiced these to improve my english. I believe it worked out pretty good. Try it, you won't regret.
