Use of email / How to Export User List from Google Apps
« on: July 10, 2012, 04:10:49 PM »
Dear all,
There may be a time when you need to export a list of Google Apps users to a .csv (comma separated value) file. Exporting a user list of your Google Apps accounts is helpful when you need to manipulate the data in some way. You can export the list and then import the data using Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheet. From there you can modify user's data including names and email addresses.

When you export a list of users in Google Apps the headers in the csv file include; EmailAddress, FirstName, LastName, LastLogin, FirstLogin and Quota. The Quota header is used to indicate the percentage of the mailbox's size is currently being used. Exporting the user list is convenient when you have to bulk change everyone's password for some reason. You can export the Google Apps user list then change the headers to; email address, first name, last name and then add password for the fourth column. Then add a password for your users. Perform a bulk upload of users and then set the password to change upon first login.

How To:
•   Log in to your Google Apps Domain as a user with Super Administrator privileges.
•   Click on Manage this Domain in the upper right of your Email screen.

•   Select the Organization & Users tab up top.

•   Click on More Actions and then select Download as CSV.
•   This will export your current list of users to a .csv file that you may now use to change, modify, add or remove Google Apps users. You can open this list in Microsoft Excel or Google Apps Spreadsheet. The image below shows what the list of users looks like when imported into Google Apps Spreadsheet.

Internet / How to setup Google Apps for Your Domain
« on: June 30, 2012, 04:10:24 PM »
Dear all,
This is a Tutorial of how to enable Google apps to work on your domain name. What I will be covering is how to ONLY setup EMAIL and NOT WEBHOSTING. Why NOT hosting? Because almost all of you have a descent site now and will not benefit from moving your website.

Step 1:
Go To and sign up for an account
If you already have a Gmail email you can use this account as the primary account to setup all the settings, or you can sign up for a new Gmail account

Step 2:
Setup Domain Details.
Your Name, Your Organization, how many users, etc…

Step 3:
Setup the Primary Master account

Step 4:
Setup What applications you want
For most of you your just going to want to setup Email and Calendar

Step 5:
The most difficult part is the Changes to DNS you will have to make.
These next steps below are copied directly from Google. They may be a little different depending on what domain host you use.
1.   Sign in to your domain hosting company’s website using the username and password associated with your domain.
2.   Navigate to an MX record maintenance page. MX records are special DNS (Domain Name Service) records, and are often located under sections titled “DNS Management,” “Mail Server Configuration,” or “Name Server Management.” You may need to turn on advanced settings to allow editing of these MX records.
3.   Delete any existing MX records before entering new MX records.
4.   For each MX record, enter information according to the entries in the following table. You may not be allowed to enter the priority values exactly as they appear in the table below; in that case, simply ensure that the server addresses are prioritized in the same order as they appear in the table. (i.e. The priority ranking [1, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5, 5] should work just as well as [1, 5, 5, 10, 10, 10, 10] so long as you keep the addresses in the right order.)If you’re asked to specify the type of each record you’re adding, enter “MX”.
MX records often require the specific format of DNS records, including a trailing dot (“.”) at the end of any full-qualified domain names (e.g. “”)
Set any TTL values to the maximum allowed.
MX Server address                          Priority
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.                     1
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.             5

Dear Students,

Common Forum / Regarding your beloved Campus Internet Radio
« on: June 19, 2012, 11:32:18 AM »
Dear Students,
You know your beloved University introduced a Test Transmission of an Internet Campus Radio for you all. You know, Internet Radio is broadcast using the Internet as the connection to the radio rather than radio waves. Conventional radio is broadcast using transmitters at fixed locations. The further that the radio is from the transmitter, the weaker the signal becomes until beyond a certain distance, the station cannot be heard.

Campus Internet Radio does not have this limitation. With your radio connecting to the Internet, it becomes possible to listen from all around the world. So, we need your comment and request to share your idea. I will expect we will be benefited from this radio. Now this transmission will be opened from 9:00 AM to 9:00PM. After getting your idea we will go for officially launching and will try to open this station for 24 hours.

The Link of your Internet Campus Radio is:

Please keep your ear for hearing the below Programs:
DIU Campus Star
Discussion with some faculty members
Traffic Jam and Semester Jam

Hope you will visit and will share your idea for enriching your desire Campus Radio.
