Problem with restricted distribution

(1/1)

Masuma Parvin:

In how many different ways can 12 identical apples be distributed among 3 children so that each child receives at least two but no more than 3 apples?

msu_math:
No solution exists !!

Possible corrections: Either total no. of apples must be decreased or no. of children and/or maximum no. of apples must be increased.

Masuma Parvin:
Thanks Salahuddin Sir. Right answer.

Masuma Parvin:
Try to determine the number of different ways 15 identical animals can be  given to 6 children so that each child receives at least 1 but no more than 3 animals.

msu_math:
There are exactly 2 ways:  {3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2}  and  {3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 1}    8)
