The Scholarship Committee unanimously adopted the following resolutions which will be effective from Fall’2011.

1.   Scholarship Committee recommended the tuition fee waiver for the students on the basis of results in HSC or equivalent including fourth subject in the following way:

HSC Result

2.   Female students, taking admission in the Graduate Programs will be granted tuition fees waiver for their HSC or equivalent including forth subject in the following way. For continuation waiver benefit, they will have to maintain a GPA 3.00 in semester final examination.

3.   Female students, taking admission in the Post Graduate  Programs will be granted tuition fees waiver  for their graduation result in the following way. For continuation waiver benefit , they will have to maintain a GPA 3.00 in semester final examination.

3.00 to 3.24           10%                     3.00                            2nd Div or CGPA 3.00 to 3.79          10%                3.00

4.   Among the students, each of the husband and wife, two brothers, brother & sister and two sisters of same parent will get waiver of 20% of their tuition fee.  For continuation, they will have to maintain a GPA 3.00. Benefit will be withdrawn if any one of the two drops from the program.

5.   DIU employees or their first blood relatives would get 25% tuition fee exemption. They will have to maintain a GPA 3.00. No restriction will be imposed in taking courses on the employees of DIU. They must serve at DIU at least for 2 years after completion of degree. Otherwise they have to return half of the benefit received (25% of the tuition fee) while quitting the service.

6.   Students graduated in any program from DIU will be given tuition fee waiver for their second degree program at DIU in the following ways:

CGPA out of 4   Waiver Rate   GPA to be maintained
3.25 to 3.49   10%                     3.00
3.50 to 3.74   15%                     3.00
3.75 to 3.84   20%                     3.00
3.85 & above   40%                     3.25

7.   The son/daughter of a freedom fighter may be provided 15% to 25% waiver depending on the financial condition of the applicant’s guardians. From Fall 2011 they will have to apply in the prescribed Financial Aid Form on payment of Tk 100/-(Hundred) only.

Note: Terms and conditions of financial waiver of other previous decisions will remain the same.

Dear Students who have applied for Financial Aid for Summer 2011 here are some tips how to present yourself in the viva board.
1. Try to wear clean,sober and formal dress.Male students can wear black formal pant and full sleeve shirt with light color and shoes.Try to avoid T shirt, Jeans , low cut pant, sandal, long hair. Female students can wear three pieces in a descent way avoid too much jewelry , make-up, perfume and high hill.Tighup hair showing both ears.
2. Hanging ID card is mandatory.
3. The cell phone must be turned off while you are in the viva board.
4. Dont put your hand on the table before the members of the Interview board.
5.Do honor the board members while entering in the viva board at first.Stand up until you are asked to sit down.
6. Try to give answer what is being asked exactly in a simple way.
7. After finishing viva by showing honor standup and step back twice then turn yourself before leaving the room.
