Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Saint-Etienne for an undisclosed fee.
Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc spoke on Wednesday about the likelihood of a deal being completed and the 24-year-old has now penned terms on a five-year contract.
The Gabon international arrives in German football having scored 43 goals in all competitions during his two years at Saint-Etienne.
Zorc hailed the arrival of Aubameyang, as he said: "We are very pleased that in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang we were able to sign a player we really wanted.
"He is offensively very versatile, has a lot of pace in his game, is a threat in front of goal and will provide us with more options."
Aubameyang finished last season second in the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts with a 19-goal return, 11 behind PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The French-born forward, who helped Saint-Etienne win the Coupe de la Ligue last term, started his career at Milan and has had loan spells at Lille, Monaco and Dijon.
