« on: July 29, 2013, 01:13:49 PM »
A 24-member Bangladesh National Football team left Dhaka for Bangkok Sunday noon on a nine-day tour to play two practice matches against the Thai National team as part of their preparation for the SAFF Championship to be held in Nepal next September, reports UNB.

The dates of the two practice matches are yet to be finalised. The two coaches will decide when the two teams will play the matches.

Bangladesh conceded a 0-5 goal defeat against Thailand last November in Bangkok.

Ahead of the Thai tour, Dutch head coach of Bangladesh Lodewijk de Kruif expressed his satisfaction over the team's progress, "I am very interested in winning games because that's why we are working, the most important thing is development and be ready to face the September challenges," said de Kruif.

"I am very happy with the attitude of the players because they want to learn, they want to adapt the way we want to play," he added.

The Dutch coach will finalise the Bangladesh squad for SAFF Championship after a week or 10 days after playing the practice match against Pakistan in Dhaka.

The Pakistan team is expected to arrive in Dhaka on August 11 to play two friendly matches against Bangladesh. The Pakistan team will play Bangladesh National team on August 13 and then Pakistan team will play another practice match against BFF XI on August 16.
