Okey, to be very honest ,I wished to share these legends when I was teaching Hamlet. Ophelia was Polonius daughter, a beautiful young woman with whom Hamlet has been in love.  In her madness, she was singing songs about flowers and finally drowning in the river amid the flower garlands she had gathered. All flowers that she handed out have symbolical meanings.
