Master of Development Studies (MDS) has launched at Daffodil International University from Fall' 2016 semester. The program in under the faculty of Humanities &Social Science.
1. To make students capable of approaching and analyzing development theories, concepts, debates and issues in the field of globalization, economic transformation, socio-cultural and political changes and environmental impacts.
2. To build constructive thinking among learners about the development policies, strategies, plans and projects.
3. Facilitate students develop the skills required to undertake development research with a focus on appropriate methodology, data collection, policy design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
4. Prepare graduates for promoting careers in teaching, research and management of development organizations.
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with a second class/division or CGPA 2.5 in any discipline from a recognized public and private university.
Candidates who have CGPA less than 2.50 at any level of education are not eligible to apply.
Credit Requirements and Duration of Program:
For MDS, a student has to complete 45 credits, with 14 courses of 3 credits each plus a dissertation of 3 credits. Of the 14 courses, 4 will be foundation courses, 7 will be core courses and 3 will be elective courses. The students have to score a minimum GPA of 2.5 for acquiring the degree. The duration of the program is one and half academic years having 4 semesters and each semester will be for 4 (four) months.
