It was your best friend's birthday, and you obviously couldn't have given it a miss.

In high spirits, you end up dancing all night, without realising that it's not the weekend. At the first hint of daylight, it dawns upon you that you need to report to work. You begin to hit the panic buttons. Stop doing that the next time you find yourself in a similar situation again. Instead here's what you can do to beat those late night blues:

Wash your face with cold water and take a hot shower
Splash your face with ice cold water at least two-three times, this will ensure your eyes don't look drowsy. A long hot shower after that will refresh and also relieve you from the pain that dancing all night has caused.

A glass of warm lime water, followed by a hot cup of coffee
Start your day with a glass of warm water, with some lime squeezed in it. It will help you get rid of a hangover, if any. Then, drink a hot cup of coffee, the caffeine will help you stay wide awake for the long day at work.

Dress up well
Wear the brightest colour you have, this will instantly perk you up and keep you from feeling low. If you are not a bright colour person, then wear some makeup, especially to highlight the eyes so that they do not look tired or puffy.

Take up less important work and stock up your desk with munchies
Do not do anything that involves numbers, statistics or details that would need your attention that day. Instead take up less taxing work, or go ahead to complete work that has been pending for a long time. Similarly, stock up your desk with munchies like nuts or dry fruits, it will keep you active throughout.
